When I’m writing Forrest and Sylvan’s story, I can’t help thinking that if it were turned into another BL story, it would probably play out like this:
Forrest is raised by Sylvan, and gradually falls in love with him. Out of guilt, Forrest resurrects Sylvan. As time passes, Sylvan no longer wants to leave Forrest, and they end up living together forever. Then Gray shows up again, and it turns into a full-on love triangle mess. 😂
But in this story, Forrest doesn’t have “love.” He has lost part of his emotions. And Sylvan, from the very beginning, has never liked being kept in the forest.

The last two pages I posted before last year feel like a memory Sylvan reflects on just before his death. I really think they fit into this chapter perfectly.
I feel deeply sorry for Sylvan, as he becomes a victim in this part of the story. Both Forrest and Sylvan are tragic figures, but the story must continue.
The pages in the Forbidden Tome are the tentacles, and Forrest becomes its host, allowing it to move through the human world.

I was tempted to try a Chinese-element AU for them.
I didn’t really think of a full story—just a random design idea that popped into my head.
In both the original story and this xianxia AU, Gray and Wine are still the same: two heavy drinkers who never get drunk no matter how much they drink. Maybe in this xianxia AU, Gray would be some kind of spirit or mythical creature.

Some memories about Forrest: because of the backlash from the Forbidden Tome, he now has only half of his soul. He can hear the voice of a demon because his soul is not human, even though his body is.
It’s a bit complicated, haha.
Those demons keep clinging to him because they want to take over his body.
