I'm so glad that after his character was completely ignored in captain americas plot, zemo got a fantastic revival as the villain you hate to love. In the comics at least, Zemo was closer to cap's rival in ww2 than red skull. They had a way more interesting dynamic. Plus his outfit is one of the closest to comic accurate save for cap and iron man.

Loved that Llamas with Hats reference lmao. Glad you're enjoying these episodes more than the first one!

On this second watch-through, I do feel like John is going off the rails a little quickly. That said, it's a mixture of both the stress of the job, and the fact that he was a modern day soldier before he was Captain America. The way that he handles a mission, and the frame of mind he locks into, are vastly different to Steve.

Just a suggestion but I think you should check out the Watchmen 2009. It’s DC but it’s really good

Sorry to double post, but also I'll just add that this might be because Ms Marvel comics were probably one of the first peaces of media I've had that so early bassically set for how I think of the world: but that "good is something you do, not something you are" is like so incredibly tied to how I see the world even after more than a decade later that I just can't view people or fictional characters as "good men" or "bad men". Like that just feels like a moral trapping, which was the point and how important that is to the core of Kamala Khan as a character. And I feel like that applies to this show really well too. Bucky isn't a good or bad man, those don't exist, he's a guy who fought nazis, was brainwashed by nazis and killed a lot of good people and is dealing with trauma in the not best way, he's done good things and he's done bad things and currently he's trying to do what he thinks is the right thing even if it is not completely the good thing. And Walker is much of the same, he bassically came out of a factory as an "All American Hero", good soldiers do often do bad things because they are good soldiers. He's a likable guy who is under a lot of pressure and he really doesn't seem to do well under pressure. . .

This show created a lot of Sam x Bucky shippers.

The thing nobody realizes is John Walker is written this way on purpose. If we got John Walker from the comics, there’d be no redeeming qualities whatsoever, but this person is written to be both the opposite of what Erskein said to Steve (good man vs perfect soldier), and have a heart while the entire world is judging you (just like the real world is judging Sam) and him purposefully cracking under pressure, having a quick temper & desperate to be taken seriously. THIS IS WHY HE’S NOT THE VILLAIN At the same, you completely understand Sam & Bucky’s positions as neither are mad at John (only the situation the government they can’t ever trust put them in) & probably think he works FOR them (not WITH them; a big difference), the government has hated Bucky for things he couldn’t control, the government was hunting them down from Civil War—Infinity War, Sam & Bucky were both Steve’s best friend and know that Captain America stands for what people should strive to be (the main reason John Walker & Bucky Barnes are not fit for the mantle currently).
