I agree, there are no cardboard characters in this show

2025-07-01 17:24:18 +0000 UTCThis is my favorite twist in this show- hardly anyone would have guessed it ahead of time, yet it was perfectly set up and subtly foreshadowed. I think another thing about this show that really pulled me in is it was the first show that I personally watched that subverted the “all demons are inherently evil” idea and gave them more emotions and depth- this isn’t Frieren where the demons are all inherently manipulative and bad, the demons are just another race with good, bad, and plenty of shades of gray- and the goddess race is the same, I just think that with the amount of power the individuals in these two particular races have in this show, it means that when they go bad, it’s extra bad (in comparison to a corrupted human, or even a giant or fairy). The Holy War is/was just stemming from the conflict between demons and goddesses(or maybe even just their leaders- the Demon King and the Supreme Deity), and the other races just got dragged in as well
