Made in Abyss Episodes 9 and 10

Made in Abyss Episodes 9 and 10

I'd disagree. The whole injury scene(1) shows the curse of the abyss making the viewer understand what exactly happens on different levels, (2) introduces a new character(the character isn't fan-service, Idk where did you get this). With this logic, anything can be said to have "no real narrative purpose" and that any story is just a sequence of coincidences. Unless you can give an example, I don't really understand this point; this can be said about any show/anime/movie/book story. Not sure where did you get the "robo-boy is a walking plot convenience" since the show isn't over yet(Unless you read manga and know more). "He's not all that curious about what actually exists down there" - I don't know why would he be curious. His goal is to learn about himself since he came from the abyss and help Reiko find her mother. "Reiko also just knows scattered information about creatures but what about the abyss itself? Why is there no lore about this area?" - there is information that they know and Reiko clearly shown that she knows a lot about the abyss from the books/notes she read. Idk about the lolicon; I know that the show has changed some scenes because manga had "questionable" nudity.

The defilement of innocence with no real narrative purpose beside shock factor is WHY i dropped it. Its not that they're building up the characters to be experienced and hardened. The point is victimization at every turn, thats the quirk. One trick pony. We go from a dramatic life-support scene to a fan-service bunny character. The show is made by a lolicon (look up this term if you're unaware) and made a show with those accents of the genre, but the show itself is quite hap-hazard since there is nothing grander going on aside from a society-wide gem hunt. "he's a good follower of orders" - the vibe you're getting is that robo-boy is a walking plot convenience. He exists to bail out Reiko from dangers so the journey is even possible. His only motivation is to save Reiko, that's it. He's not all that curious about what actually exists down there. Reiko also just knows scattered information about creatures but what about the abyss itself ? Why is there no lore about this area? Its vapid air, nothing's fleshed out. Everywhere they went we couldn't absorb the lore of the location because monster of the week would chase them to the next location, ad repeat, etc. Unresolved goal left unresolved, and the Abyss was a mere tourist trap.

Flander Genetics

The watch order for Made in Abyss is Season 1 (1-13) Movie 3 (Dawn of the Deep Soul) Season 2 (The Golden City of the Sorching Sun) Movie 1 and 2 is just episode 1-13 back to back with fewer scenes
