I’m in nursing grad school in California. I’m researching and writing a lot about single payer health care. That guy is full of shit about Canada’s healthcare system. People are not dying in Canada because of single payer healthcare. In fact, they are healthier compared to Americans because they have a universal single payer system. Another thing , Chris is right, America has long wait times too! To be fare , Canada has long wait times for orthopedic surgeries, but only the non-emergent elective procedures. Rich Canadian piggies who can pay out of pocket , can go to some fancy orthopedic surgical center in the USA and get their procedure faster than a wait list. Canada healthcare workers know how to triage and prioritize care to individuals.
