Update 11/30/21: Sprite Madness

Yooo, holidays! On the one hand, it's great to have some time off... on the other hand, you gotta spend *time* with your *family*, ewwwwwww... haha.

I missed another week--maybe I should aim for three updates a month? I'm considering it, and idk *what* my Christmas schedule is gonna look like. I'll try to be better than November, at any rate...

ANYWAY

I've drafted the 'gist' of the Priya recruitment sequence! Essentially, Priya is a decent, good-intentioned girl going to Putnam Academy, and is plum tired of the new school policy where the guards and faculty can eat troublemakers, because the guards and faculty have a very loose definition of troublemaker, and largely eat whoever they want. Also, some students are doing it, too! At your suggestion, Priya decides to join you in getting LARGE, so that she can eat the guards, the faculty, and anyone else who threatens the peace of her school days. But first, to prove you're trustworthy, you gotta feed her sister Priksha, who's been skipping school on account of... well, the aforementioned maneating. Depending on how you treat her, Priksha might stay safe, or get herself eaten; if Phoebe is in your party, she'll eat Priksha the moment you talk to her. Some of these outcomes will lead to Priya joining you, others will not!

As for the images: the big face is Agent Skein's new portrait, after you recruit her! I'm exceptionally pleased with how it turned out, enough that I'll probably use it as an avatar at some point. Even on non-kink platforms--it's very Mood, in my opinion. It's also adapted well to her larger face sizes--the ones I've drawn thus far, anyway.

The sprites, then: Firstly, the wild-haired duo are overworld sprites for GAIN agents, specifically the 'plumper' tier ones. GAIN has received a slight redesign; their original skin color was a tannish thing that, when applied to their sprite, came off as rather orange. THAT, combined with their green hair, made them look like, well, militant oompa-loompas. And while the expansion community owes a lot to Willy Wonka... I couldn't have that. So, yeah, now they're re-colored. I'll probably forget to change their enemy artwork, it'll be awkward for a while, etc.

Second: The purple-shirted sprite (an edit of Phoebe's) is the overworld version of the 'housewife' enemy. FEF uses random encounters, but I wanted something more... 'original', for npc/events that might block your path than the fat sprites made via rpgmaker's character generator + the fat body template. Thus, the housewife...

Third: COWGIRLS!

It was kind of a whim, kind of a persistent goal... Making 'costumes'/'outfits' for characters in sprite-based games seems a nightmare in general. For FEF, a game where characters change and thus need new spritsets constantly, it's even worse... And yet, I'm determined to do something like that, with Rachel. Experimenting with editing her sprite ultimately led to me spinning off the concept to a completely separate cowgirl sprite set.  It's not a 'true' sprite set, as I didn't bother to make any walking/stepping animations, but the cowgirl has 4 sizes, and sprites for all 4 cardinal directions... Also, as the actual sprite sheet might suggest, I made an alternate colored cowgirl. There's even a third one with neon-blue hair, that I didn't post... all in all, the cowgirl exercise led to an additional 12 files...

My character folder is kind of a mess, haha.

I'll hold off on explaining the cowgirls for another time, but, let's be honest: it's kinda obvious what'll go down, right? Right.
