As much as I love Silence of the Lambs.. It is in my opinion, the weakest as far as story and character development. Red Dragon first, Hannibal second then Silence of the Lambs. I remember reading Red Dragon my freshman year of high school. With the exception of 1984 and Douglas Adams "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". I don't remember a book where my parents had to tell me to take a break from reading. It was THAT good. This movie does the novel justice. Good choice.

I agree with George's assessment that this movie suffered from Silence of the Lambs comparisons, but in my opinion Red Dragon equals Silence of the Lambs in terms of suspense and intrigue. I also agree with Simone when she said you feel left out of the mystery solving aspect, which lets you try and figure it out on your own. The movie doesn't assume the audience is stupid, which I appreciate. This movie feels like it could have been independent of the "Hannibalverse" and been just as good.

When I was a kid, I accidentally found that out (that was before there was internet widely available) and I was able to call random numbers. It was pretty interesting. 😅

I get some crap for saying it, but as much as I love The Silence of the Lambs, I love Red Dragon just a bit more. Also, thank you for providing a third uncovered option. When I watch along, most streaming platforms play fine, but one of them (the one I use the most) always stops to buffer. I'm constantly pausing and mico-pausing the patreon covered version so I can re-synch only to have the streaming version stop and buffer again. It's very frustrating and this has made it SO much easier and enjoyable. So again, thank you.

Some people don't want to pay $4 to rent the movie off of Amazon just to watch the reaction. Or spend $10+ on HBO Max or Hulu. This makes it much easier and people can still choose the full reaction.

Looking at the poster spoils who is in the movie and etc. Going in blind makes it more surprising and unexpected. 19 minutes of barrel adventures and Weeds and whatever else I skipped. How long ago since they watched Silence of The Lambs? And they're finally getting around to Red Dragon and maybe Hannibal and Hannibal Rising.
