I just did the NY times test, and it identified me as most similar to San Francisco (where I grew up), and Boston (where I live now). Pretty good!

2022-03-12 19:29:57 +0000 UTCIt takes place in Northampton MA. I'm not sure I could call out a WNY accent/word usage and I grew up there. Broadly eastern Great Lakes (Ontario/Erie). There was (and maybe still is) a web site that tried to ID where you grew up by giving you words and phrases to hear, and you put in which seems more like you. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/upshot/dialect-quiz-map.html It nailed me as either Buffalo or Rochester which isn't bad for 25 questions.
