Holiday Week: Time Lapse 1
Added 2020-12-27 03:01:00 +0000 UTCSo the new version of Clip Studio, the software I draw my comics in, has a TIME LAPSE VIDEO feature! It's pretty neat! Here's a quick clip of me drawing an upcoming strip. Feels wild to see several hours of work condensed down to 30 seconds, lol
(here's a link in case the Patreon embed doesn't work, I've never uploaded a video before: https://questionablecontent.net/patreon/4427.mp4 )

That is some great magic to watch. You make it look effortless.

2020-12-27 22:54:10 +0000 UTCNice time lapse, and it does it all by itself. Damn that's a sweet feature to add.

2020-12-27 20:54:03 +0000 UTCIs there a canon height for May? I hope she's 6'2" now, because my girlfriend is that tall and she reminds me of May, what with all the being suspicious of other people's altruism toward her and all.

2020-12-27 20:37:12 +0000 UTCThis is SO COOL.

2020-12-27 19:52:46 +0000 UTCSpeech bubble tails are missing in the top right panel. Also, methinks Sam is about to get another important lesson vis-a-vis prying into other people's personal matters.

2020-12-27 16:26:37 +0000 UTCNow quick go look at QC #1; someone should make a timelapse of your art style over time

2020-12-27 14:16:28 +0000 UTCThis is so cool to see. As someone who draws (albeit not as well) it's so awesome to see the processes of other artists. Love your comics Jeph, I hope you're getting rest dude.
2020-12-27 13:15:54 +0000 UTCThe Patreon embed isn't loading for me in Chrome 87 on Android 11. Thanks for the direct link.
2020-12-27 12:59:48 +0000 UTCSeconded - in your own time, obviously.

2020-12-27 12:45:07 +0000 UTCYou only do a *single* guide draft line layer? Jeez my first draft layers look like childrenβs crayon scribbles. Youβve come so far since your first comic itβs incredible

2020-12-27 08:08:05 +0000 UTCThis is the best kind of bonus content, especially if it doesn't require extra effort to produce. So good to see the process.
2020-12-27 08:05:28 +0000 UTCThat's cruel and unusual punishment.

2020-12-27 07:24:57 +0000 UTCI've always loved "how it's made" vids. I never imagined you started with the dialog then filled in the background, then the characters. Cool!

2020-12-27 06:48:22 +0000 UTCV cool! I voted for "take a week off" because I sincerely believe you (more than) deserve some down time, but I find process stuff fascinating, so if it's suitably low effort to share more of these, I'd love to see them.

2020-12-27 06:15:43 +0000 UTCThis is awesome! It'd be really cool to hear you talk through your process and the steps you take.
2020-12-27 05:27:11 +0000 UTCI still kinda hold that robot jail is mostly AIs doing forced "community service". May was made responsible for monitoring crosswalk requests for a suburb of Muncie.

2020-12-27 05:13:45 +0000 UTCIt's amazing to see just how few lines are necessary to make it completely clear who the character being sketched is. Not even ten lines are necessary for them...
Mark Thomas
2020-12-27 05:01:04 +0000 UTCI remember when you used to stream these on twitch until you got banned/suspended for a boner cat AFK sketch. Definitely have missed those streams. Would love to see more of these!

2020-12-27 03:37:48 +0000 UTCI just watched this five or six times, pausing frequently. It was really interesting. I'll pick out two things to comment on. First, I liked how your pencil drawings were visible but in a different layer throughout, but particularly when drawing the background. I can see how that would be really useful. The other thing is the way the characters jerk slightly after they're inked, and at one point it looks like she jumps in front of May. I infer that each character is in her own layer, and May was pulled forward so that she could be finished easily and just pushed back behind for a slight overlay, instead of having to guess where every line should go. Very cool!

2020-12-27 03:33:54 +0000 UTCThis is great! Awesome to see your process.

2020-12-27 03:05:40 +0000 UTCHonestly, the most fascinating parts for me were which parts of the comic Jeph switched to working on when.
