I'm pretty sure he just learned that we're past the stage of maintaining scatological niceties in this household. Unfortunately, he didn't learn what he needed to. People who ask, "Have you learned nothing?" or even "Have you learned nothing important?" generally fail to understand the vast scale of the universe of knowledge at least as much as the student they are questioning and greatly overestimate their own importance. Unless their student has anterograde amnesia, they've almost certainly learned something, just not the one trivial bit that you've been trying to teach. I understand, you feel like that trivial bit is important, but in the vastness of the universe, it's an infinitesimal point within an infinitesimal point. Even within the vastness of human knowledge, it's still a very minor thing. More to the point, there's usually other lessons they could've learned that weren't the thing that you were trying to teach, but would be just as useful in the situation you were attempting to prepare them for. Sorry for the rant, but teachers who are full of themselves really bug me sometimes.
