Bad advice. When you're a teenager (and/or a young adult), going after a girl can be *exactly* the motivation you need to push yourself to the next level. And if you have the right attitude, she doesn't even have to accept you. You just dip into that well of "like" whenever you need a stimulant to keep yourself going when you feel like quitting.

Also all this is a good motivation for Winslow to learn to be more persistent and not be discouraged by single comment (even from a very close person). He won't get Roko without it. UPD: of course I meant persistent as "be more confident in yourself and your choices", not as "be a creepy stalker until something bad happens" way.

Imma be honest, most of y’all are being problematic af right now. Hiring onto a company solely because you have a crush on one of the employees is creepy, unprofessional and a very quick way to make life difficult for yourself. May said exactly the right thing to Winslow, because his sole motivation to join there stemmed from attraction to someone else. It’s not right, it’s not professional and it’s hella disrespectful to the person in question because you’re basically treating the job they do as a dating service. If Winslow wants to work there, he needs to want to work THERE, not because it gives him easy access to his perceived ideal person.

(This happened in my class with the ACT, which a perfect score of 36 isn’t as impressive as a perfect score of 2400 on the SAT. Still, the class wanted to kill the guy. Even worse; he was a jock.)
