Yak Insurance

Winslow had a bad time

Yak Insurance

Comments

I have to wonder if Winslow was attacked by an alligator on this trip. That is one of his fears. https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3544

Joseph Bonnar

Corepions?

Lightsabr2

"Scorprions" That sounds like a particularly NASTY kind of protein! LOL You know - I had forgotten that Winslow had gone along, too... I admit to some prurient curiosity as to scorpion access points, myself... Is there some kind of battery chamber that is exposed when running out a charging cable in more primitive locales? :P

Kerin Schiesser

"Always check your processor core for scoprions". words to live by. a wise man, this Jeph.

Joe

We have to see if she can handle the Basement of Doom...

David Pipes

Claire would approve.

Daryl Sawyer

<3 Marigold. Am I crazy (likely) or in frame 1 there she looks more like Louis from "Revenge of the Nerds" than she ought to (with long hair, of course). ;-)

Mooster

The food when at camp (as long as it wasn't ultralight hiking) was the highpoint.

Chuck Dee

That might explain some of the bites on my lower legs...

Joseph Houk

Always shake the scorpions out of your robot before switching it on.

Dean Reilly

Winslow reminds me of myself coming back from summer camp. Only it was goats, not yaks, jumping spiders, not scorpions, mumps, not malware, and the snakes never successfully bit any of us because except for that one surprise baby rattler we were noisy, successfully alert, and provided every opportunity for safe distance (more bites from mosquitos, no-see-ums, the fire ants, and an occasional yellow jacket sting)....I hugged civilization upon my return every summer, ten years running (though it was probably mostly the return to better food. Not that I hate kitchari, but six weeks of it as the main staple does grow boring for a child, tween, teen).

Simran Khalsa

Fun scorpion facts: there's only one scorpion species in the US that's lethal to humans (the Arizona bark scorpion, Centruroides exilicauda), and it lives in the Sonoran Desert. But knowing your local scorpions are safe isn't much consolation when you encounter one in your house. And the stings of the non-lethal ones are still quite painful. I think I might have been stung by one last year when I made the stupid mistake of going across the street in the dark to get the mail, while wearing flip-flops. Or it could have been the worst fire ant bite ever. All I know is that it formed a blister on top of a blister, and the skin at the sting site was discolored for months.

literally an unhappy camper

SpookyPenguin

I like our cute robot characters actualizing their full body dreams as much as the next reader but part of me does miss all the cute little robos running around...hope we get some more someday.

Ben C

She's working really hard to find the positive spin

Bagge

And he didn't even mention that whole "deep sea monstrosity" yet

Bagge

Robots have some interesting diseases

Bagge

Winslow's epiphany was that everything is terrible, always

Dylan T

I'm waiting for the 'Hanners has a relapse' storyline, because these kinds of deeply ingrained neurosis do not just suddenly go away in some steps monetary epiphany, I speak from personal experience.

Nemo of Utopia

I think he got the Normal Boy Deluxe chassis

Grace Kieser

He caught Malware-ia? That's rough.

Andrew

They were baby scorpions entering his nostrils. Not his ears, 'cause he would have heard that.

BobC

lol poor Winslow

Lee B.

Future bonus comic: Where, exactly, did the scorpions crawl in?

Chris Gallaty

It's not an INSECT, it's an arachnid. Still a bug. :)

Czarzhan

Poor scorpions. She'll want to go capture some.

OldGoat

It's not a bug, it's an arachnid

Magic Chopstick Games

I wonder what kind of kinky ideas it'll inspire in May? Melon, OTOH, will find the scorpions to be kind of, "Ho hum, all in a day's work."

OldGoat

I can't wait for May or Pintsize to hear about Winslow's adventures.

Joel Bateman

Lady got bangs.

Brendan Jones

Poor Winslow :(

Kyle Jenkins

Slowmo?

It's really hard to get Yak Insurance since the Great Stampede of 2043.

Noise

Sam has GOT to hear about Winslow's travels! XD

Shawn K. Younkin

And Momo looks slightly different too. A more "mature" or "adult" attire. Less teen/ more twenty-something.

Michael Boettger

I’m shipping Winslow & Momo, as Momoslow.

Miyaa

Poor soft boy. :(

Flounder

My comment the other day blew up so let me just get out ahead of this and say a lot of times Jacques does stuff that looks iffy and that iffiness turns out to be the point (like, you know, the Tilly arc that prompted all this!) so I'm withholding judgment for at least a couple of weeks if not more. The man's more than earned the benefit of the doubt and I'm sorry for implying I wouldn't give it to him.

Seth Aaron Hershman has they she pronouns

I can’t decide whether “Yak Insurance” or “Always Check Your Processors for Scorpions” should be the name of the inevitable autobiography.

Criss Invid

Poor guy. But you survived, apparently intact, and only slightly worse for wear.

Michael Boettger

One of my favorite comics, Atomic Robo, has the titular hero horrified of insects. He knows it's an irrational fear but the idea that they could climb in between his joints squicks him out bad

Ami

Winslow really needed to spend a week coated in yak shit, sounds like

Seth Aaron Hershman has they she pronouns

Is Winslow going to be the new Hanners now that Hanners has (seemingly) gotten over her anxieties?

JD

Go Winslow!

Matt Grayson

Nice job with Momo's eyes in that last panel!

Kaleb C2

oh come on Winslow, don't be a wimp, it's not like the scorpions were going to bite you or anything!

LH

Poor Winslow
