Melon And The Question Of The Soul

Comments

Just looked up halberds. They are scarier than greatswords of holy wrath!

Holly Nelson

Hopefully Vatican III will bring that long-awaited intelligence and charisma buff to priests to offset that edged weapon ban.

Will Weaver

Is Melon going to join the cast, or will she be a side character who pops up occasionally like Col. Flagg on M^A*S*H?

Churchill (formerly TeaBear)

I fucked Johnny 5

Jeph Jacques

this went a lot differently in short circuit 2

David Willis

I've said this before but a shirt with all of Jeph's URLs would be fun.

Diptych

It's easy to spot 'cause it's got the flag sticking out of it.

Diptych

I need a complete set of rules for Ass Golf. I won't ask where the hole is.

Firefly Jelly

He doesn't care about the halberd. Let the nuns have their fun. He misses the feel of a Greatsword of Holy Wrath taking a demon's head clean off.

"Holiday Rerun"

Jason Ayres

Duplicate? Pretty sure this showed up last week......

Zach Elwyn

Oooh, a priest! Do I have deja vu?

Don Whiteside

OK, but remember that this context is affected by my perspective and I am a old Dungeons and Dragons nerd. In the early days, this role playing game allowed you to play a priest and equip them with edged weapons. The combination of edged weapons and spells granted by their deity via prayers made them so formidable, many players felt they unbalanced the game. I think Vatican II is an allusion to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (also known as D&D 2nd edition) where the rules were changed so clerics could only use bludgeoning weapons (less damage than edged weapons) in an attempt to re-balance the game's characters.

Mace of Disruption.

RoofPig

I am Episcopal. We actually do attend crossbow training every Thursday. We follow this with a pot-luck supper, and Eucharist, of course. I’ve heard some High-Church Anglo-Catholics favor the long bow. Progressives are looking into light sabres.

Philip D Jones

I would have thought that Episcopalians, being part of the Anglican Communion, would specialize in longbows... Or is the crossbow thing part of the post-Revolutionary War reorganization?

James Redekop

But they are allowed the statuary set of brass knuckles. "PENANCE" on the right, "ABSOLVE" on the left.

David Paul

I...i want context.

Dylan T

Poor priest dude seems so dejected about not being allowed a halberd. Life so isn't fair.

Bagge

Melon needs a spinoff series.
