Nah, Death's voice isn't contained in word balloons. They have a sort of static finality that just... sits on reality like a granite slab. Listeners don't *hear* the words so much as KNOW exactly what he said.

Despite the weirdness in the movie, the Voice isn't a magic/psionic thingy. It is applied psychology based on incredible perception. A Voice user observes you briefly and then can sound *exactly* like your mother when she was angry, or your drill sergeant, or your abusive SO, etc. Someone you will unquestionably obey instantly.

For God’s sake don’t go SEE Dune, the movie. The movie is AWFUL. READ Frank Herbert’s novel. Just Dune. Don’t get sucked into the crappy sequels and prequels. Dune is perhaps the finest product of the paranoid imagination. At least, that’s what THEY want us to think.
