Just Your Average Day

HELPING?

Just Your Average Day

Comments

I realize only now what is going on in the first frame, but that's me being slow on the draw.

"Flu Starts Here!" Nice. (yes, I know it's "shots")

Trigon Manthree

Tilly makes me sooo anxious omg. Hanners is so much better than me; I would not have put up with them for 2 days. >_<

Airyu

Love the smiley prescription bottle character on the pharmacy poster! :)

Abhimat Gautam

I assumed it was laundry detergent

Poor Hanners. ;)

Brad Knowles

Hmm. So, Hanners was closely monitoring the pouring of the caustic green liquid, but didn't wear any eye protection?

Brad Knowles

This reminds me, I think the robotic pharmacy tech is of the same model as May, and her name is an anagram of May’s (Amy). Nice little detail there.

Will Weaver

I wonder what May is up to lately

“... I expect Hannelore might know someone who could benefit from Tilly's helpfulness...”. *raises both hands and waves them wildly* “Pick me, pick me Monty! I've got a costume!” (And a plethora of sorting, tidying, and editing tasks desperately needing some Tillying.)

Holly Nelson

Is it possible that Mommy Dearest was actually hoping Hannelore would send Tilly to leap into a shark, Martin would beat them to death or Faye would dismember them in the swamp (it's closer than the ocean and Faye's got limited funds) so she could get rid of the corporate spy without revealing that she knew about the corporate spy?

Tricking your own daughter into murdering someone to cover up your own corporate espionage: a new low, or the same old low?

Jumpy James Johnson Junior

this gives me an idea I'm not going to post here because then Jeph would perhaps feel obliged not to use it for copyright reasons but this is a delightful idea and I hope it comes true. about Tilly being helpful elsewhere.

Sian

Hanners knows Tilly means well, but "well meaning" isn't always the same as "helpful". I meant well when I was nine and trying to help dad fix cars, but 25 years later I know as much about mechanical engineering as I did back then (around or approximately zero). To me, their capacity as a PA is being wasted here and now. But... I expect Hannelore might know someone who could benefit from Tilly's helpfulness :)

David Paul

Haha. Literally Happy Pills.

Lightsabr2

Nice team-up. That works. At least for them.

Wild Card

I always enjoy your comic, but this was the best one in a very long time. :)

Rob McBobson

I really want to see the lyrics of the Ocean Acidification song.

Gary Walker

Adorable, yet clearly about to wreck that spider’s shit. :P

Will Weaver

Oh my god Winslow looks adorable with a sword!

Cole Blackblood

Oh yes.

Tom Carlson

I forget: Is anyone shipping Wintilly?

BobC

I guess anxiety hour wasn't cancelled after all. At least they added a song to make it more cheery.

Joseph Erhard-Hudson

This montage is making me cry happy tears.

Alex Mullenix

Just love the expression on Hanner's face in panels 3 & 4.

Andrew Mitchell

I believe they are measuring out fabric soap

Wow, watching Hannelore's expression just flatten as the day progresses says "does not work" really well. Hopefully Tilly can perform a roll other than assistant (and stealth industrial spy) in the comic. It sounds like they have a controlling corporate parent just like Hanners, so they have points they could bond and commiserate over.

Simran Khalsa

precision detergent weighing

Kyle Major

I feel like Faye should be able to forge the coffee shop a new sword with all the stuff she's learned.

Dylan T

I KNOW RIGHT?!?!

SSJ Carrot Cake

I wish you were right but her face in the last frame does not look like its wearing an appreciative look.

Mooster

Tilly and Winslow as best friends is something I didn't know I needed until right now.

Kyle Jenkins

I need that poster to exist in real life.

Will Weaver

Okay, this made me laugh...from Hannelore having Tilly weigh and measure the laundry detergent, to the minor details like the borax container’s slogan being “it’s borax” (and another container saying “death to germs”), to Tilly and Winslow singing about ocean acidification (and the labels on the pie chart). I think Hanners is slowly appreciating their help. Also, as a pharmacy tech, the idea of a robot working in the pharmacy frightens me a bit...but I guess I wouldn’t be a pharmacy tech in the QC universe. :P

Will Weaver

Can’t resist making a ‘now Hanners gets to do the daily grind’ joke! You just lobbed it right up there :)

Andrew

In panel 1, I’m curious why they are measuring by volume and weight. Pretty sure that introduces a lot of environmental and substance-specific variables. Also why isn’t Tilly wearing gloves, a lab coat and mask!

Andrew

I like Tilly, but they have some deep seated problem which makes them as driven as they are. I predict that this is going to surface in a bumpy form, but probably not soon.

Holly Nelson

I love how Tilly and Winslow have joined forces in the battle against Hanners' anxieties. :D

Ingrid Nordbø

Glad to the CoD sword is still in good condition.

Captain Button

I like the background details, like the 'take your dang pills' poster at the pharmacy!

Stuart Telfer

They look so happy helping, but Hanners doesn't seem to be enjoying this at all. :(

Alcaria Swain

Hmm, I second this 👍

Lord Crusade

My prediction: hanners appreciates tilly’s help and learns to like them as a person, but becomes wracked with guilt/anxiety over how much money is spent on Tilly not doing very much

Glad they took care of the daily grind before fighting the boss.
