the re-release :D

*** This re-released version is ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL!! so if you already have the old one working fine you don’t need to upgrade or anything if you don’t want to. 2.0 just has some small quality of life changes and few extra settings that i like in my presets now; i’m mainly posting this to have an updated description! also prettier pictures bc aesthetic

** disclaimers: all screenshots were taken in del sol valley, if this looks poop elsewhere i cannot be held legally responsible —– this preset can perform relatively smoothly for gameplay; disable mxao + dof for the best results! —– as this preset was created with 4.9.1, it will most likely look / perform different in other versions!! if you need help installing 4.9.1, i have a NEW video guide explaining how to install the new version + this preset! 

This reshade was created using version 4.9.1 and features:

legacy shaders + standard effects (installed from the 4.9.1 installer):

• MXAO (shift+3)  //  FXAA  //  SMAA  //  Luma Sharpen  //  Ambient Light (alt+L)  //  Vibrance  //  Colourfulness (alt+C)  //  Filmic Pass  //  Magic Bloom  //  Clarity (shift+C) //  DPX  //  Tint (Sepia)  //  Levels  //  Depth Haze  //  Film Grain 2 (alt-G)  //  Ring DoF (shift+2)  //  GP DoF (shift+2)

qUINT shaders (installed from the 4.9.1 installer):

• qUINT_mxao (shift+3)

⚠️ the majority of the original preset’s settings have been left untouched in this 2.0 re-release

⚠️ the changes that were made were MINOR and probably not noticeable tbh

NEW to the re-release:

• hotkey for Ambient Light  —- sometimes, the ambient light would wash things out and i found myself having to toggle it on/off frequently. this version adds a hotkey (alt+L) to make that easier!
• DoF disabled by default —- when i originally released Dove, the preset would load w/ DoF enabled and that caused A LOT of headache for a lot of people who didn’t know what it was. i have made it so that the DoF shouldn’t be active when you download it (i think)!
• Colourfulness shader —- idk if my tastes have changed or if some of the shaders have made things less vibrant (actually now that i think about it it’s probably bc i have a new monitor) but the preset wasn’t looking as colorful as i would have liked…. so i added a toggleable option (alt+C) to boost the color!
• Clarity shader —- i found myself enabling the clarity shader on Dove from time to time for a bit of a sharper image, so this version includes that w/ a hotkey (shift+C)
• Film Grain —- i like the look of a film grain so i also added that here w/ a hotkey (alt+G)

Additional Things:

!!  be sure to disable edge smoothing in-game  !!

!!  RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0 !!  — make sure this line in global preprocessor definitions is equal to 0

!!  MXAO_TWO_LAYER=1  //  MXAO_SMOOTHNORMALS=1   !!  —  set these lines equal to 1 under the “preprocessor definitions” dropdown located under qUINT_mxao
