Realistic dragons

I recently had to think about what kind of limits to put in place when working on the morphing for the dragon creator, because some morphing combinations result in unrealistic or odd proportions. The choice is to either limit the range of morphing so you can't end up there, or leave it to the player to simply not morph like that if they don't want a weird looking dragon. I like freedom, so the latter was the natural choice. This also lets you get a slightly cartoony look for all you HTTYD fans, or you know, just max out every morph to get a true dragon abomination.

Horn shaping is something that may be added, while individual placement of spikes and such won't be possible for technical reasons

I'd like to quote one of the Satisfactory devs, on the topic of why they gave up on fussing over conveyor belt clipping. "...as we saw people play the game, we noticed that people who care about the clipping... ...tend not to place them that way... ...and the people that don't, they find enjoyment-- clearly-- of doing it this way. So we felt like it's a little bit of a best of both worlds when you give players the ability to build as freely in this manner... ". Players get choice, and you get to avoid wasted time on trying to limit said choice. Definitely was the right move!

I just looked at the video of the creator again and it made me question. We'll have the option to add horns and spikes and what not but, will these "add-ons" be customizable just like the rest of the face, for example? I think it should for two reasons: To prevent creations to look too similar and to add even more flexibility.

i also like the latter option, especially since some depictions of dragons are... already a little odd-looking, so i think it works out X'D and it's more fun that way too ;w;

KinglyQueen

I mean, they're pretty unique, and it takes some time to get used to them but in the end they feel right.

Chillifork
