How to join the Discord community

Hey everyone! 

I just wanted to do a specific post to answer the question we get occasionally: How do I join the Retrograde Amnesia Discord server? Our server is for patrons-only, but we won't kick you out if you have to delete your pledge! 

What the hell is Discord?

Shit, I don't know. It's like a chat room. Anyway, it's a nice place for online communities to gather and chat about stuff.  Patrons have access to stream our recording sessions, so you can listen to us mess up and offer us feedback that we can incorporate into the show. 

How do I get my Discord role when I become a patron?

Step 1: Make sure you’re in the right Tier. (All Retrograde Amnesia tiers have the same Discord benefit). If you made a “custom pledge,” instead of joining a Tier, you’ll not be assigned any Discord roles. If this is the case, let us know and we'll send you an invite manually.

Step 2: After you confirm your payment amount, and Tier selection, you’ll be taken to your creator’s Thanks page. If you’re already connected to your Discord account on Patreon, click “View on Discord.” If you haven’t connected your Patreon account to Discord yet, click the option to “Connect to Discord.” 

Step 3: If your Discord account is already connected, clicking the "View on Discord" option will open a browser window to Discord, where you can log in and see the server. If you haven't connected to Discord, clicking "Connect to Discord," will take you to the Apps tab of your profile settings page. Click the button to “Connect” next to Discord, and log in to your Discord account. 

Don’t have a Discord account yet? Select the option to “Register” in the pop-up window that appears, and follow the prompts.

Step 4: Now that your Patreon and Discord accounts are communicating, our integration will assign you the role tied to your Tier! 

You can access your new role by logging in to your Discord account.
