January Reward - Prastriga

Hi Everyone~!

The first creature of the year. Based on "Phantasmagoria" prompt, introducing the cunning and tricky monstrosity from the subterranean realm. A creature with a body covered by numerous bloodshot eyes capable of projecting a very realistic illusionary terrain indistinguishable from the actual terrain around them and then using the environment to trap and kill their prey.

Prastriga

(Praestigia fallacis)

I hope you like this... creepy creature~! And one more thing, as mentioned before, this month, we'll be doing a Patron Creation. So this month, the patron I'll be working with is...

Archivist - Vanilla Ice

I'll be working with them to create their creature or character for the Archive, I hope you'll be looking forward to it :D

The files have been added to the creature folder in the Vault, so please check it out~

haha, their posture is indeed kinda based on squirrels if they exclusively move on their back legs.

They weirdly give me squirl vibes

Ah, I'll try to improve the wording. The illusion block view since it's heavily obscuring creatures within it, I'm following the PHB errata: (A heavily obscured area doesn’t blind you, but you are effectively blinded when you try to see something obscured by it.) So you have a disadvantage when attacking Prastriga when it is inside the illusion, and they can take hide action while covered by it. My intention is that instead of taking action to attack, it can hide as an action and use the hit-and-run reaction to attack and move to a different cover. it doesn't create a difficult terrain. Instead, Prastriga typically uses this to hide hazardous terrain and lure prey to step on that spot.

This is an awesome creature and I am definitely going to use it but it might be useful to know exactly what benefits the illusionary terrain gives the creature. It is a bit unclear. Is the creature invisible when in the terrain? Is the terrain difficult terrain?
