Behold the mighty raygun!
This video shows off what the usage of the size changing raygun might look like. I had to implement a third person aiming mode switch and walk animations accordingly.
After you pick up the raygun, you can equip/holster it, switch to enlarge or shrink, aim and fire.
There's also a possess ability, that allows you to switch into any other character.
You can also just grow and shrink yourself.
So far you can only grow and shrink in a range from -5 to 5 where 0 is normal size. This right now is easier to work with, since adjusting all the variables for walk speed, play rate of the animations and a bunch more, is really difficult to get right. Of course at some point, I want to get rid of these limits.
Keep in mind that all of the effects, sounds and whatnot are all work in progress and need tweaking and or changing. Also there is no collission between the characters right now, it's a little wonky. Same goes for the tail, which was being simulated by the physics engine before, though if I changed the scale of the character on the fly, it spazzed out hard. The IK system also didn't like scaling actors. Lots of things I still need to figure out.
Next up will be stomping stuff though. After that, I should be good to create the fist pre-alpha for you guys to try. I can't make any promises but I should be able to do that within a week or so. So stay tuned for that! :3
