The last two weeks were so busy with work, I can't even tell you! I'm taking a couple days off to chill, thank goodness.

I've been wrestling with a lot of feelings about my work lately, partially because with the atrocities going on in the world right now, and the conflicting advise about whether to shut my mouth or to speak up. I's hard to keep posting such self-centered work when people are suffering so much. But at the same time, you're probably still going to work at your job too...however important or mundane it may be. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Also, it seems lately that everyone wants a piece of me all of a sudden. I think when people perceive that you're "successful" (whatever that means), they want to be involved. It's like a snowball effect maybe. I'm no different than I ever have been, I'm still doing the same things, but now lots of people want to ride on the coattails of my work. Some of it is genuine, some of it is clout-chasing. I guess I'm easily persuaded and perhaps still naive, and I often don't see the true intentions until later on. I said yes to too many projects that honestly don't pay enough (or at all). I really learned my lesson these last couple months, because I've been working harder for the same income, and that just doesn't make sense for anyone.

Working with Valeria is always a pleasure, and I never feel as though I'm being used. It feels natural and creative, rather than just "content cranking." We are not machines that you put coins in and work comes out of. At least, I don't want to feel like that.
