Stupid Cupid

Have you been in love?  What was it like?

I've been in love 3 times.  One, he broke my heart, another - well, I broke his.  The third story is still going!

I don't feel the highs as much anymore, but I also don't feel the lows as much either.  I'm not numb, but I've ended up perhaps a bit more even-keeled as I get older.  I do kind of miss the passionate, messy stuff though.  What do you think?

Euphoric. Overwhelming. Terrifying. Vibrant. Satisfying. The thing of it is, you never can know for sure when it's going to arrive, or depart, or return. (Insider info: all the things you feel - they're you. Others only stimulate your triggers, and always for reasons, some you can perceive, and some you probably don't...the feeling itself is entirely within *you* so you can always have it again, for better and/or for worse). Dr. M should be in on this convo.

All the very best to you, Erin. Our chemistry and experiences can lead us to blissful highs and crushing lows, and I hope that you have more of the former. You deserve wonderful things, thank you for the glimpse into your world.

I have fallen in love several times. The highs are glorious, but the disappointment and embarrassment that follow rejection are brutal. Love is irrational. We’re driven by emotion and chemistry, which aren’t always enough to maintain a relationship long term. If you would willingly and enthusiastically sacrifice for the benefit of your partner, you may know what love is. Best wishes for fulfilling future relationships. :)
