Getting a platinum doesn't necessarily make you know the game better or more intimately. It usually just means you're good at following instructions. Just my opinion.

He could very easily jump out the window, but no, let's put a key on the table right next to the open window for a door basically around the corner of the room you're currently in, cause Video game logic lol.

2024-11-03 05:48:11 +0000 UTCI've had absolutely zero history with anything Silent Hill, and knew nothing about this apart from the fact it's a survival horror, and vaguely knowing the image of Pyramid Head. So after hearing the very positive reviews of this at launch, I bought it to try it out. Can definitely say as someone experiencing this story for the first time, I loved this game. Certainly more of a psychological horror game than jumpscare-y, but the unsettling vibe throughout was perfect. The sound design throughout was immaculate. And again as someone with no knowledge of the original, I was very confused at some aspects early on, but it all tied together in the end. Glad I didn't know the story as I loved how it unfolded for me.

I know a lot of it comes from the OG game, but the skill that was put into the 3D audio was amazing. A game hasn't pushed me to my psychological limit like this in a very long time, and a lot of that I attribute to the paranoia-inducing audio. Agree with Jaffe about the pacing issues too. If it was maybe 5-6 hours shorter, it would have much better pacing for me. I think too much time is spent playing peek-a-boo with those fucking annoying mannequins too.

I absolutely love horror games now and found this game to be a masterpiece. The story blew my mind and made me feel so many emotions. I absolutely loved everything about this game.
