Sunbay City - BETA 1.8 - Release notes

Here we are, ready to release the new BETA 1.8 build!

The past few months have been quite challenging, especially as we prepared for the Early Access release on Steam, which has been delayed due to some unexpected personal health issues I had to go through (but thankfully, I’m doing well now). These setbacks slightly changed the production process, but on the bright side, it gave me enough time to review the game code and finalize the story script for the main quests involving Mike and Amelia. I also finished planning everything that will be added in future updates.

So before adding a new batch of content, it was necessary to review the entire game code, clean it up, and optimize it for faster content integration. This significantly expands player possibilities and brings a fresh, enjoyable experience.

The next and final stage of development will include the finalized game format, featuring both a story mode and post-quest activities like dating and training.

In this build, I focused entirely on Amelia to develop and complete the dating module and the skill tree, which unlocks through training in the BDSM room. This feature will eventually be available for the other girls as well. However, before expanding it to include them, it needed to be fully integrated into the previously planned gameplay logic.

A lot of game assets have also been prepared, including hairstyles, outfits, and more for Emma's friends and the girls who live next door to Amelia’s apartments in the women’s college dorm. One of them, Naomi, is featured as a preview. Her apartment is right across from Amelia’s terrace, and you can catch glimpses of her at various times, almost naked, as she does different activities around the house—she likes walking around like that. Additionally, a few characters needed for the next story quest have been developed (they didn’t make it into this release but will be added soon).

Amelia’s apartment received a major interior and overall visual update to better capture the atmosphere of a college dorm where Mike finds himself among the female students.

A new AI navigation system has been developed and integrated into the apartments, designed to bring the characters connected to the main protagonist to life. This system is currently available for Amelia and, as a preview, for Naomi as well. For Amelia, players can now pull her away from her routine to hang out, and they can also engage in sexual activities while she’s doing various tasks around the house. So far, only a couple of activities have been added, but her capabilities will be expanded in future updates, and this will also apply to the other girls.

Amelia herself received a visual upgrade, featuring a new body, enhanced facial textures, and a highly detailed mouth with a tongue.
She has also received a significant update in the Beauty Salon (2/3 functionality is done), allowing for changes to:
- Pubic hair
- Body modifications
- Clothing and accessory choices

All these changes will be reflected in every sex scene and within the BDSM room.

A unified sex scene controller has been added for all interactions. Now, to move the camera up and down, you simply hold down the left mouse button and drag, and a single click is all it takes to bring up the menu.

Inside the BDSM room, a skill tree system has been implemented (currently available only for Amelia) that unlocks various options, including sexual activities tailored specifically for her (focused on the particular girl during dates) as well as additional features for all the girls, providing opportunities for everyone.

All the animations within the training sessions have been improved and polished.
New animations have been added for Amelia - sex anywhere.

The Help app on the smartphone has been updated with a new description that pertains to the main gameplay.

Mike and his main character controller have been improved. A new starting appearance has been added (which will be fully available in the next release). The Testosterone parameter has been replaced with Adrenaline, which is more fitting. Adrenaline can now be increased when fighting, driving, or even just “punching the air.” Once it's filled, it unlocks access to his super ability—the throw (detailed descriptions are available in the Help application on the smartphone).

Testosterone is no longer required to visit the BDSM room; now, you only need to boost the girl's mood to 100, and you can head to training with her.

A dynamic camera adjustment system has been added for the interiors, and a bug has been fixed that caused city sounds to occasionally play inside buildings for a few seconds.

Inside the car, you can switch radio stations by scrolling the mouse wheel up or down. The volume control system has also been improved—by holding the up or down arrow key, the volume adjusts smoothly without the need for separate clicks. The new radio station, HOT 108 FM, features 40 unique tracks that have been specially composed for our game to capture the carefree summer vibe and a sense of joy and fun, created with the help of AI Music Generator and licensed to us.

A new radio broadcasting system has been added that seamlessly plays music throughout the world. For example, the music continues smoothly when transitioning from Breezy Restaurant to the nearby beach bar.
