ART: Old Stuff, Part 4
Added 2022-06-01 19:00:09 +0000 UTCGetting back to collecting my old high-res images! In my earlier days I was a little more careless about resolution, so some of these weren't drawn very high to begin with.
The Nick piece is still one of my favorites I've ever done, and one of my early explorations into being a little less process-oriented in my pictures. I think an easy trap to fall into as an artist is to develop an assembly-line way of working and never work outside of that specific process. So I started screwing with stuff, painting on top of lines, etc. It's had successes and failures but gradually I think it's pushing my style in directions I like.
The Moses flower crown is the only time I've done any kind of pride month art, and I thought it was pretty subtle. Some people still got mad at it! Wild.

Re your notes on experimenting: I've 100% fallen prey to the 'assembly line' way of working. I think, maybe because I fear fucking up? I envy your' ability to shift n change and grow - I gotta channel some of that and break the mold one of these days.
