Welcome to another progress report!
Last week was the first week we were able to truly dig into the code for v0.14 and make a real impact.
The new location, Hazel/Robbie's apartment, has been connected to the map, as have all of their new scenes and lewd scenes. Hazel's schedule has been expanded to now spend some time at home on his days off and at night. Robbie now has a schedule and will appear at home when he's not at work.
We also coded Jeze's new scene, which we delayed to v0.14 since it is dependent on certain choices. It has a lot of variables, so it isn't done, but it's in there and ready to be refined.
But this makes us about 2/3 done with coding! It's the end of the episode, so we need to incorporate that, and one last big scene needs to be figured out. We have a good 30% left, with the final 10% remaining for bug fixing and stress testing the build.
Not to mention, I need to add sprites to the new scenes.
I did some writing for the Unity build, but mainly took a more managerial approach this week due to being bitten by a dog. Yeah, I went to the vet to pick up medicine for my cat, and as soon as I walked in, a dog chomped the back of my thigh. Had to go to urgent care, and I've been nursing it since last Tuesday, actually. So I made sure everyone had stuff to do and did a little work while I could tolerate sitting at my desk. It's getting better, but it still hurts like hell.
But this week I am going to get back on the horse (not that one) and get to writing. Noba did a lot of umazing work on v0.14, and I played a version of it yesterday. We identified several areas for improvement, not only in the code but also in the writing.
Part of the drafting process on a game like this is getting your hands on it, experiencing it as a player, and thinking, "Well, this is lacking," and then going into the script and refining it. I had a moment like that yesterday, where I now have one scene left to finish and several others I need to tweak.
There is more art to be done, oh no! It's nothing terrible. I added the Robbie sprite touch-up to the board since I had forgotten to do so earlier. There is also a "new" special moment being added. What is really happening is that a special moment is being moved as it doesn't quite fit the scene, and a new one is being drawn. It's still very good, and we are going to use it, but we wanted something different for the scene.
We're almost 6 weeks out from v0.13.5's release, and I think we are making incredible time. 6 weeks where a lot of crazy stuff happened to us. We had a vacation, my bathroom was gone, another game released, and we're working on another build. I think the team is doing an incredible job.
No date yet, but we are definitely making good time.
I'm so glad you asked. Lotus completed an in-house tech demo of our Unity build, and it was surreal to see the game playing in such a way. We learned a lot from it and now have a benchmark for our progress and how we want to proceed.
Art is being done, scripts are being done, and code is being done. It is progressing nicely, and it's going to be so fun to one day show it off.
We made good progress this week! I hope it's enough to make everyone happy <3 We're working really hard here, despite the universe, governments, and payment processors wanting to shut us down. But we're not going anywhere.
Thank you all so so much for your continued support, and remember to Stay Rad!
