April 2019 - Patreon & Personal Update

Hi everyone, this is a long-overdue update regarding myself and the status of my Patreon.

Long story short, I've been doing a pretty terrible job as a content creator due to a combination of life issues and my own habit of taking on new work while I still have a ton left to finish. Right now I'm not in a position where I can dedicate myself fully to a growing Patreon campaign with larger projects, so I need to keep things as simple as possible until I catch up and get my life together.

For the time being I'm changing my Patreon rewards to early access, WIPs and Monthly Packs only, serving mostly as a tip jar. All Future Sketch Requests, Patreon Commissions, Patreon Streams and "Thank You" sketches will be on hold until I'm A) 100% finished with my Patreon backlog and B) able to guarantee a stable schedule to deliver those rewards consistently. The Tier values and Discord rewards will remain the same.

I completely understand if you want to unsubscribe for now and wait until my Patreon output is more stable. For those of you who prefer to support me via Public Sketch Commissions, I'll be opening them up much more frequently.

Personal Update

To let you all know where I've been recently, I've been dealing with a family emergency over the past month:

At the end of February my mom was hospitalized for hyperglycemia, we found out she's a type-2 diabetic. To my knowledge none of my immediate family is diabetic, so we didn't recognize the symptoms until she could barely pull herself out of bed one morning. So for pretty much all of March I've been a caregiver for both her and my grandmother who suffers from short-term memory loss due to Alzheimer's.

Quite frankly I'm not handling my grandmother's condition very well since I know it slowly gets worse over time. She was diagnosed a couple years ago and my mom, uncle and I have all handled different duties taking care of her, but throughout last month it pretty much all fell to me and the stress broke me down a couple times. I'll likely need to seek counseling to help deal with it.

Thankfully my mom and I have both gotten accustomed to her diabetic lifestyle changes, and as of last week she was able to return to work. My family and I still have other problems to sort out and I'm still the one cleaning up a lot of the mess, but I'm glad we have my mom's  condition under control now.

This recent emergency doesn't excuse the amount of work I've let pile up before that, nor my past absences. From now on, I'll try to be more transparent about the things in my life that I know are going to affect my work schedule. My current priority for Patreon is finishing my long backlog and making sure everyone got what they pledged for.

Patreon Plans

WIPs & Monthly Packs: At least twice a week, I'll post WIPs for my Bronze ($5+) patrons. These WIPs will be both on Patreon and in the #tango-wips channel of my Discord server. Many of these pictures will be meant for previous months, but I'll still include them in the current month's pack (i.e. if it's currently April 2019 and I post a WIP from June 2018, that picture will be in both the June 2018 and April 2019 packs).

I deliver my Monthly Packs via emails containing Dropbox links. Save the links or add the folders to your Dropbox account to automatically get all future updates.

Public Galleries: I should be able to post something to my Twitter most days of the week. I still have other galleries like FurAffinity and Newgrounds to set up, but for right now I'm just focusing on Twitter.

Backlog: I'll be working on my backlog of Patreon comms, Patreon requests and "Thank You" sketches, and getting my previous Monthly Packs up to date. I won't be adding new Patreon incentives until these are 100% complete, and realistically I expect to be working on this for at least the rest of the year. Many Monthly Packs will likely start out with fewer pictures when I send them, but I'll be updating  them over time.

Gumroad: As I finish up the Monthly Packs I'll add them to my Gumroad store. These purchases will contain links to shared Dropbox folders instead of a static download folder. This way you can get all future updates through one purchase.

Thank You

Thank you to all of my supporters, clients and fans who have followed me so patiently. I'm deeply sorry for keeping you all waiting in the dark, and I hope one day I'll be able to offer greater rewards and bigger projects for you like I originally intended. Please bear with me while I catch up, and I'll make sure to do a better job providing you with content and updates.

Comments

Honestly just knowing that things have come up is perfectly excusable for me. Thank you for tell us, and I hope things get better soon for you!
