It’s a bit of an awkward translation, but Wilhelm wasn’t being sexist when he said, “With a face like that, you shouldn’t be wielding a sword.” What he really meant was that Theresia didn’t want to wield a sword, so she shouldn’t have to. It just came out strangely in translation. Also, not sure if you’ve noticed, but she’s related to Reinhard and was incredibly strong. There’s only ever one true master swordsman at a time, and Reinhard is basically a god lol. Wilhelm constantly praises his wife, even saying he found it hard to believe the White Whale could have defeated her. For Wilhelm, wielding a sword is everything. To him, it felt like Theresia was looking down on swordsmanship—not intentionally, but simply because she was effortlessly talented while he had to train endlessly to reach his level. His frustration made him insecure and immature, similar to how Subaru used to act (since Wilhelm is actually a foil to Subaru). But eventually, Wilhelm got over himself, just like Subaru had to go through all that character development in the episodes leading up to this.
