Chapter 1 

Chapter 2 Party Trouble

While having friends made things easier to bare, things still sucked. Daniel and Raymond were struggling to get dates like most of the guys in their rank, meanwhile the girls flocked to the “love interest” characters like crazy. ‘This totally sucks!’ Even the girls of their rank seemed to treat them like dirt.

The Prince was throwing a tea party and all the girls wanted an invite. It was painful, to see all the girls that gave them the cold shoulder, lose their minds to get with the prince. Leon noticed something odd, a scene played out a little like a cut scene in the game, but Angelica the rival was going at a girl called Marie, not the protagonist. ‘Something is off here.’ The dialogue was the same, but…

He shook his head. ‘You’re a mob don’t get involved!’ Don’t stare, act normal, stay away! It was a solid mantra.

Prince Julius in Leon’s opinion was kinda an ass. Even in the games he lamented his title and position, but never opened up to anyone about his problems. Even though he didn’t want to be the prince he used his position to get what he wanted. He often chastised the Rival for not understanding him, but… ‘Dude did you ever just talk to her, how can you expect her to know how you feel, she’s not a mind reader, this dude is totally clueless.’

He wasn’t sure what the prince was going through, but compared to his friends, the dude was sitting pretty. In the game the protagonist “sees who he really is” and “treats him like a real person”. ‘You should try walking a mile in mob shoes pretty boy!’

Something about Marie was bothering him though, not only her appearance but the way she acted kept bringing up red flags in Leon’s mind. The Prince ordered Angelica to back off and she did. ‘See there ya go, you don’t even realize you are abusing your power as prince do ya?’ If any other guy tried to boss a girl around like that they’d be lucky not to be struck or beat up by servants. If the girl was powerful enough it’d be a one way ticket to the gallows.

Leon was studying tea ceremony as all guys did, at first he found it dull and boring. The initial belief that these parties were just dumb pageantry to impress the ladies. His teacher called him to the front to give him a proper lesson on Tea Parties. “You’re a genius sir!”

Bartfort had been moved by the teacher who he now respectfully called master. “What just happened?” Daniel asked.

“I...don’t...know…” Raymond answered.

Leon was now devoted to the path of tea, wanting to create the best he could. He prepared for his first tea party with a specially brewed tea and all hand made snacks. “Impressive, you seem quite motivated.” Luxion said.

“It’s all thanks to my master! I’m a reborn tea party host!” He could have bought some fancy snacks, but he felt them being hand made gave it an extra touch. They looked and tasted amazing.

He had invited a daughter of a baron to tea, but it didn’t go well. She brought her friends and her servant. The friends were rude and rotten. “We are going to Brad’s tea party in a little while and this felt like a good way to fill some time.”

‘Huh?!’ The friends scarfed his food and drank his tea, all the while barking out orders and being rude. He couldn’t even say anything or risk getting attacked by the servant. ‘Oh god please no!’

“These snacks were okay I guess?” The frog looking girl said.

‘Didn’t stop you from scarfing most of them!’ He grit his teeth.

“Should we go?” The mouse looking girl said.

“Yeah, this was some nice filler between invites.” The baron’s daughter claimed. “But you should really buy more expensive looking sweets if you wanna impress any girls.” The three laughed at him.

‘Ugh...all my hard work.’ That wording alone meant they cared about the price of the snacks not so much the quality of them. They made a mess of the table he set up. ‘It’s a good thing I had some extra stashed away.’

They ate his food, drank his tea, ignored him except to bark orders, then insulted his tea party and walked off to the next one. ‘I hate this…’ The art of the tea party was a prickly path.

Things took a turn as some girls began to haress none other than the protagonist, her name was Olivia. She had gotten an invite from Brad one of the love interests. The girls ripped up her invite and left her on the floor crying. While Leon didn’t want to get involved in her story, he did owe her.

He invited her in for some tea. Unlike the other girls Olivia appreciated his hard work and efforts, finding his snacks to be amazing and his tea to be very refreshing. ‘She’s so nice, I wish other girls were this nice.’ There was no comparison really.

The two became friends but the bullying had to stop. As much as it pained him he went to Jenna for help. Leon had to knock off 10% of her debt to get it. Her advice was simple networking, Olivia would need approach the most powerful girl in her class, give her an offering and seek to join her circle.

She didn’t have money to pay for sweets, so Leon made her some and chipped in to get some high quality sweets too just in case. Angelica appreciated the offerings and allowed Olivia in her circle.

Olivia and Leon were even partnered up in the Explorer Class. It seems Angelica pulled some strings to make it happen. Leon noticed that weird girl Marie with the Love Interests again. Angelica was calling her out like she did with the protag in the games. He looked to Olivia who seemed indifferent to the situation. “Do you know anything about this Marie girl?”

“Oh yes, she’s the daughter of a poor Viscount, and I’ve heard she’s bullied even more than me. I’m not sure why.” Leon had a feeling he did. The amount of bullying the protagonist receives is determined by how many of the love interests they go after. If you go for the reverse harem ending the bullying is tough.

The Prince and his Entourage were grouped up with Marie. They each began to chastise her for being too clingy.

Angelica was being painted as the bad guy here, but she was just worried about the Prince. He was the heir to the throne him dying is a pretty bad thing. Julius snaps at her and again uses his position to make her back off. ‘He snaps at her but look at his entourage clearly they are here to make sure he doesn’t get hurt either. I don’t see the prince walking in by himself?’

The whole class seemed content with using Leon and Olivia as meat shields and collecting the easy material later.

This test dungeon was pretty basic but they could farm experience and mine materials in here and whatever they found or killed went towards their grade in class. Plus getting some extra spending money.

Olivia was curios about how the dungeons form treasures. “It’s simple, when the monsters die their mana seeps into the walls it builds up and the crystals are formed. That mana build up can attract monsters or help monsters multiply.” Leon explained.

“I never read anything in a text book on that!” She gasped. It was a side quest in the game where you learn all this.

Leon got a big sack of crystals and even Oliva got quite a few spoils. A monster attacked him, getting a bite off him before getting cut down. These monsters weren’t as tough as Luxion or Miauler so they were no trouble.

“You’re hurt!” Olivia used healing magic on him which was quite rare.

‘I’m not surprised she is the future saint after all.’ He thought.  Leon had other things to think about like crafting a new tea set with the materials he got.

Meanwhile…

Marie was traveling with the prince and his entourage. Julius Rapha Holfort, first in line for the throne. He wanted Marie to rely on him. He was tall handsome, with dark blue hair and matching eyes.

Then there was Greg Fou Seberg, Earl Lineage. He was a muscle head, and looked down on spoiled nobles, despite being a bit spoiled himself. Greg was tall, well built, with red hair and matching eyes. He was being cocky as he was the only one of them that had any dungeon experience.

Chris Fia Arclight, Earl Lineage, Sword Saint Candidate. He had light blue hair with matching eyes and he wears glasses. He didn’t approve of disrespect towards the prince.

Jilk Fia Marmoria, Royal Family. He had long green hair with matching eyes. He was highly intelligent and calculating, loyal to the prince to a fault.

Brad Fou Field, Marquess Lineage. He had long purple hair with matching eyes. He was a narcissist and a flirt.

They were attacked by a group of giant ants. “Five of them, we’ll die if we let up!” Chris said.

“Your highness please stay back!” Jilk said. The boys were sweating as the monsters approached. Chris and Greg attacked with close range, Jilk used guns, and Brad used magic.

For comparison Leon also fought a group of ants, and killed them all on his own. An ant attacked the prince and was slain shortly after. Angelica was worried about the prince and was chastised for it. There was some clear hypocrisy going on here.

There was a serious problem, according to Raymond’s information things were happening in school. Leon recognized these things as events in the game, but they happened MUCH later. ‘What is that girl doing?’

He had his suspicions for awhile now, but Marie might be like him, a reincarnation. This wasn’t good she was messing with events and stealing events from Olivia. She was messing with the love interest characters, even doing the kiss event in the library with Brad. ‘I might not be able to hang back if this keeps up, what Marie’s doing is dangerous.’

Leon would have to take more action soon. Marie was very dangerous, she was getting her kicks messing with the love interests but she didn’t love them. She loved their money, she loved the attention, and she loved their power. ‘I’m gonna enjoy this world to its fullest!’ She had no idea what forces she was messing with nor did she care.

-x-It was the End of Term Party-x-

Soon it would be summer vacation, but everyone was prepping for the End of Term Party. Leon had Luxion scan Marie and confirmed his suspicion she also had old human traits as Luxion put it.

The party was horrible, when Leon, Daniel, and Raymond tried to even talk to girls they were insulted. Looks, financial status, and title, they heard it all. “Can’t we just talk and get to know each other?” Daniel asked.

Snap! The demi human servant attacked punching Daniel before attacking Leon and Raymond. “If you want to be our partners, then get yourselves reborn as someone more...desirable.” The servant tossed them out of the party, and they could hear the girls laughing at them.

“This sucks!” They looked inside and the Big 5 had no problem talking to girls, in fact girls were throwing themselves at them.

‘I don’t know if I can take this anymore!’ Leon thought.

He saw Angelica challenge Marie and he recognized this event. ‘Ah the duel, this was a pain in a half, in the game the rival challenges the protagonist and the love interest with the most affection agrees to become champion.’ He was just a mob character he had no place to interfere.

Sure enough all five stepped up to defend her. ‘She’s going the harem route.’ As he heard Julius spout a bunch of BS about love Leon felt his patience snap. Having all five stand against Angelica left her with no options as everyone turned their back on her.

Hearing all the guys declare their love for Marie made his blood boil. ‘That’s enough!’ The guys were mocking Angelica’s actions, and coming off as real jerks in the process.

Leon stepped up. “I volunteer as champion!” He declared, surprising everyone even Angelica. ‘These guys need a wake up call!’

Marie flubbed the game lines, putting on a cutesy act. ‘She can’t even get the lines right what a total fake. These guys are in real trouble.’

“I’m her representative so you’ll be fighting me.” Angelica had only one set of terms for the prince and Marie to break up.

“If we win then you’ll no longer interfere with my relationship.”

“You seem to be pretty harsh there Prince!” Leon stepped up to him. “She is your fiancee right?”

“That doesn’t matter here, I’m just a student.” What a load of crap. No student would talk that way to Angelica out of fear of the consequences.

“Oh? A student huh so you want to be just a regular guy?” Julius stepped back in surprise. “I don’t think you understand a thing about being a regular guy.”

“Of...of course I do!”

“Really?” Leon laughed. “Cause if any guy in this room other than you and your boys spoke to Angelica like that, they’d be stripped of their rank and sold off as punishment for such disrespect.” He crossed his arms. “Or are you so ignorant of your country’s laws?”

The other guys took offense to his disrespect towards the prince. “Huh?” He rubbed his ear. “What are you talking about? He’s not the prince here right?” The guys flinched and the Prince looked shocked as well. “See what I mean, I treat you like a regular person, like anyone in this room and look what happens!”

“Back off all of you!” Julius snapped. ‘This man...Leon Bartfort...he’s different…’ Doki Doki

“You are the one who beat that dungeon by yourself, you seem quite confident. You understand you’ll be facing all five of us?”

“I do, and since I’m a gambling man why don’t we raise the stakes. To insure you and Marie truly split up, this summer you’ll joining me on my island as my pet!”
