APRIL UPDATE

Hello, patrons! I've decided to start writing more updates whether I have big announcements or not, so HERE. WE. GO.

It's a rough time in the ol' Renegade Cut household (Studio C apartment). Overall patrons are down, subscribers are down, views are down, it's down all the way down. I'm in communication with sponsors, but none are offering much more than a pittance. I can still pay my bills, but the situation is becoming precarious.

Patreon has given me a deadline to switch my account from "per video" to "per month", and I genuinely do not know how badly this is going to hurt yet. They claim that they will be able to make the switch painless by adjusting the tiers and pledges, but it's still a big question mark for me.

I'm far more satisfied with my work than ever before, but my audience largely did not follow me. Of my current 311,000 YouTube subscribers, only about 10,000 - 20,000 watch my videos anymore but have not yet unsubscribed. I can't go back to making politics videos, and even if I did, there is no reason to believe my subscribers will start paying attention to my work again like before because YouTube has been burying my videos for over a year.

I'm now planning to take drastic measures. Enormous videos, overhauled Patreon rewards, live streaming, etc. I hope I'm not too late to save my career. I already started making Shorts and TikTok videos to help, but so far, no major change in fortunes.

Enough with the doom and gloom. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all my patrons for sticking with me. You saw everything change and said "Let's keep going, Leon." From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
