This reward has a long history. Ive been working on this picture since around August 2019. Well, sort of. I tried doing so much to this picture, and I just kept getting sidelined by so many other things that it just kept taking forever, I just couldnt ever finish it. This picture even had a whole other version with a different proper background to show the parts of him that were obscured by the water. But I just could not get the inspiration for that version, I kept trying to make it over and over and over again, and it just broke me. This picture broke me. In more ways than one, actually. I spent so much time working on this that I hurt my drawing hand and wrist REALLY bad around November.

And then in November on top of everything else I had a really bad health scare, and then a family emergency, and then so much just kept happening that it just turned me off from drawing for months. It's like the universe itself wanted to stop this picture from being finished.

Then in 2020 I slowly tried to get back into drawing. I actually started drawing the other reward for this month, the Animal Crossing one, around February, with full intentions to reopen the Patreon as far as back then.

Aside from my health and wrist issues the other stressful stuff in my life was still around so I had not much time or energy for drawing. And then the pandemic started. The kind of thing that only makes stressful things way more stressful. So once again I turned away from drawing for months. I dont even know when the will to draw returned to me, but it eventually did. So I started working again on the Animal Crossing pic and the Glutimus pic.

...And then my laptop started dying. Again, I swear divine intervention wanted this picture gone. But honestly, my laptop dying just kinda made me more motivated to finish it. I mean, I kinda need money to repair it, and Patreon is kinda my preferred source of income, since I can put way more love into the things I draw for my Patreon than anything else I can draw for.

So I buckled down, and kept working on the picture, determined to finish it. I came to the realization that I was never gonna be entirely happy with it, and I was never gonna finish the other background, so I edited everything about the picture as good as I could in order for it to look decent to me after a year of working on it, and completely did away with the other background and just chose to go backgroundless in order to show off his full body. I pretty much settled and half-assed this picture in the end, but sometimes you just have to finish a project, and I'm happy I did.
