Ankha Zone x Cum Zone | Animation WIP #4 [GIF]

The frames have been doubled! Since completing the rear view of Phalia's hips, I wanted to update the main animation to be just as smooth. The previous loop has been inbetweened from 2's to 1's, effectively upgrading from 15FPS to 30FPS.

I did this with the help of AI Interpolation with DAIN, however it should be noted that the AI did an extremely messy job with most of the frames. The actual interpolation process only took about 40 minutes, but fixing the errors and mistakes took me 4 full days of work. Painting out all of those glitches was tedious, but a lot faster than inbetweening from scratch.

I recorded a timelapse showing the clean-up process for the clothed versions of this animation. I'll be editing and uploading that video to Patreon in a few days. In the mean time, you can check out my Twitter post for a small peek into what the process was like.

Currently, there is only one main animation asset left, a close-up of Phalia making some kind of cool / spooky facial expression. From there, the video is basically done and will just require some tweaking in After Effects. I'm looking forward to working on other projects once this one is out!

Amazing work! Very glad I joined your Patreon :) Keep it up!

I'm not an animator but I have experimented with gifs and animated cursors. GIMP has a tool for morphing between images like this https://i.imgur.com/bFIeGNJ.gif Import two screenshots>morph>number of steps:10>instant gif

Yep! These videos are great. I have a friend working for Noodle who does his own experiments animating 48FPS by hand (see 3:20 in the second video). The reason I recorded timelapse footage is because I plan to make a follow-up / response to Noodle at some point. I want to showcase how AI Interpolation can theoretically be used for good, at least when in the hands of an animator who knows what he is doing. Noodle himself said that this was possible, though I haven't seen anyone try it yet. The only reason it worked so well for me is because (1) My animation was designed to be smooth from the very beginning. There are no sudden or complex movements. (2) I applied DAIN to the raw animation itself with no BG's, no effects, and no filters. This means that I don't have to worry about reconstructing the background when DAIN inevitably fucks it up. (3) I doubled the frame rate cleanly from 15FPS to 30FPS for even frame spacing. The most common conversion I see is 24FPS to 60FPS, which is a disaster because those numbers to not divide evenly together. All of these factors greatly improved the AI output, but it still made plenty of mistakes that I had to manually paint out by hand. Still, I was able to turn what would have been a 2 week job into just a 4 day job. It has its uses, even if the use cases are limited.
