Cat Breed Guide: Ragdoll!

Apparently a brood this large hasn't been seen in 200+ years. So I'll try to take some pictures for ya! Soup likes to eat them, so I dunno yet if she will enjoy this or pray for a swift death (different things = scary)
This week's breed was supposed to be the Ragamuffin, but they're pretty much da same thing and I've only got so many jokes. Both breeds were suggested by Tanja, Bel Tamtu, Roxanne Vallad, Marly, Katie, Emmett, Chelsea, Franko, DawnSnowe, and Ray M! Thanks y'all!!
This was a good excuse to include Breakfast Sammy, though his true origins remain dubious and opossumy. But he does go absolutely limp when lifted, brushed, and also when trying to defend himself from Soup gently playing with him (just flops over and lays still... amazing defense)
I remember when I took Salad in fer a spayin', I brought him with me as well to see if they could neuter him, I assumed he was special needs but it was so early that I didn't know much yet. They took him back and ran some tests. They came back to me and were like "yeah, we can't do it at this facility. Somethin's up with him, when I lifted him up he just went..." and she did a zombie pose. Actually I have a kitten picture of him that does her impression exactly. And here it is.
In the end his balls ran away into his abdomen, and had to be neutered for 100x the price of Salad's. A true expensive designer breed!

2024-04-29 20:20:53 +0000 UTCBreakfast boy certainly does resemble a Ragdoll cat's appearance too! Very rounded in the face and body despite not being one of the very round, brachycephalic breeds. You do have to be extra cautious with Ragdoll cats though! They can be so laid back that they don't startle or react even when they should like being under a car or recliner and can end up badly injured if not noticed.

2024-04-29 20:17:39 +0000 UTCScrambles had to be neutered and "spayed" because only one testicle descended. I was able to have to pay only the equivalent cost of a spay, and I managed to go through an assistance program that reduced the cost significantly. He of course had some sort of complication after but thankfully it was easily taken care of. x3 Poor little guys! Breakfast is so cute!
