Second Re-opening... I think?

If you know who I am then you already know what this page is about.
Game currently in development is XF: Extreme Formula and a build for Electric Supporters and above will be made available soon.
With that in mind I've just started the development of the game's story mode, but since most of it is planned ahead of time there is a lot of setup required to get a functional build out the door, so it will be quite a while before I can show off the story mode.


I cannot foresee the future, but I might keep this patreon up indefinitely, even between projects, just for those who still wish to support me in that in-between time.

Late July Update

Straight to the point, sorry for the lack of updates, I've been hard at work on my next project already and this patreon page should be fully updated once that gets announced.

This next one is going to be a short project, with the aim to release it by the end of the year.

Rolling Out Keys (Spark the Electric Jester 2)

Currently I'm already rolling out keys for all patrons.

20$ or higher should already have keys that let you download the game early.
10$ or higher should be getting keys that will unlock the game on release day.

If anyone hasn't gotten their key, please feel free to message me, most likely I've made a mistake or two.

With that out of the way, now that this game is done, there will be changes to the patreon tiers and goals. 

I'm still thinking of what to change but if anyone has any ideas, feel free to leave a comment or a message.

Secret Patreon Update


Actually, the secret is, the game is almost done!
Why is it a secret though? Well, I don't think it's a good idea to go around saying the game is almost done when those sorts of projects will always get delayed in one way or another, but for the patrons that can get a playable build, that build will finally arrive soon enough.

So here's the rundown so far:

  • All main stages are finished
  • All cut scenes are finished.
  • All bosses are finished
  • Game is able to be played from start to finish.
  • Most of the save system is fully implemented

Now what's left is to finish is the extra stuff, first, we need some sort of way of ranking the player, for that, I've come up with a solution, we have speed medals and score medals. There are only gold and diamond medals. 

In a "speed run" you'll race the clock, that goes without saying but score runs are a bit more complex. In score runs, you'll try your best to raise your score as much as you can until the 5 minute mark, where your score will start depleting, forcing you to finish the stage. While scoring, you can rank up multipliers and rank up as much points as you can.

This mode was mainly added as a way to give a little more purpose to the easily skipable enemies found around the stage, they are worth a lot of points so you will be trying to destroy as much as you can if you want to get a score medal, plus, you'll have to do it fast.

What's after that? Two main things, a concept art gallery, difficulty modes, an in-game shop, related to the gallery and possibly multiple save slots. Well, at least that's all that I can think of at the moment.

So, I'll see you guys for a build when the scoring ranks are finished, those will likely take at least a couple weeks, and speed ranks are already finished. It takes so long because I have to set those myself, that means I have to practice at my own game quite a bit.

What are those? Those are in-between boss fight cutscenes, those are still their previews in blender and are not yet implemented in-game.
The first one is a transition between phase 1 to phase 2 and the second one is when you fail phase 2 and it resets to the beginning of that phase without a death sequence.

Jan 1st - Progress Update

Hey guys, I know it’s been a while but I’ve got a lot done in the meantime, sadly there won’t be a new demo just yet. I’ve currently finished making all stages and I’m currently working on the game’s final boss. This final boss is a rather lengthy fight but I’m sure it will be worth it.

I’m super close to getting this game finished, but there are still a couple things left to:

> There are still a couple cutscenes left.
> I still have to do a lot of overall game polish and bug fixing, I’ve got a full page of notes on things that need to be fixed and added and I’ll most likely try my best to go trough all entries before making the next demo.

> I can say that the soundtrack is at least more 50% done, progress on it has slowed down because of the holiday season but it should resume soon, Even if the full soundtrack isn’t completed, I’ll be releasing the demo anyways.

> On the next demo, it will come out once most of the things I listed above are finished.

> After the demo, I’ll start working on “game progress”, basically the system that makes you progress from stage to stage and unlocks them as you beat them.

> Game extras, I’ve a lot of things in mind for post game extras, such as a gallery with collectibles that can be found in game and via a shop menu, using the standard collectibles (bits) as currency.
> Maybe extra short bonus stages, depending on how long they will take to build.
> A customizable  “speedrun” mode, where you play trough every stage in succession with no breaks. I wanted to add an option to customize it, as in, change if you want enemies to show up, if you want bosses or not and maybe even cutscenes, just in case you want to experience the story again, loading times and cutscenes won’t count towards your final time, though.

> Difficulty modes, this will likely affect the combat, though.

That’s it for now, but I want to warn that not all of those extra things might make in, I previously had a deadline to finish this game before february, now most likely I will get the main game finished on that month but the extras and polish will take longer.

Progress update - nov 20. 2018

tl;dr it's all good.

So, recently I've been doing the equivalent of binge watching but for making levels, currently I have:

> Finished all stages except for the last one.
> Currently reworking and polishing some of the old ones.
> Only 3 main bosses left.
> Couple of cutscenes still need to be made.

My plan was to get you guys a fully playable and finishable build of the game by the end of the year, just all the main stages/cutscenes/bosses and none of the extras. If you're worried about me posting screenshots and the sort, don't be, I'm working on late game content and I rather not share those until the time is right or the game's release.

Still, keep in mind I still have to implement a save system and add the games extras. But regardless, progress is moving along rather smoothly and you guys have been a great help so far.

Now on bugfixing, I actually haven't taken any time to devote myself to that just yet, I will once I am done with all the main content and I'm read to publish another playable build to the high tier backers here.

Anyways, that is all for now, I'll see you guys in the next build, hopefully I'll release the game by my self imposed deadline of February next year. See ya!

New reward tier and more.

This is an in between tier to fill the 10$ and 30$ gap, in summary it's pretty much a "just before release" beta early access tier. As stated, people on 30$ will get more builds during development in general and will likely get it before the people at 20$ will, at least, around a week in advance. I should also make the newest build available to anyone who joins the tier soon.

Also, just to note, in a 30$ tier post, I said that I needed more testers, which is true but what I consider a tester is pretty much just about anyone that plays my game before release, I'm generally accustomed to not getting bug reports are I'm aware of most bugs already, my biggest concern is about how good the game is, so, to me, the best kind of report is to just tell me what you though of it.

Still, you are under no obligation to give me any reports, as long as you enjoy the game that is all that matters to me.

Spark The Electric Jester - Update 1.5

And there it is, a free update for spark on steam.
This isn't the last update I'll be making for spark, there is, at least, one more. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fix all technical issues just yet but I was able to get rid of some of the major ones, the game should be a lot more stable and functional with this version.

Now that I'm done with this, I'll be resuming work on Fark for a while, aiming to get a backer build, It will be a while until then but I'm exited to get back into it.

This is the current incomplete build for the next demo. All it really needs now is all the music to be done and some other things.

This build has a fully implemented version of Floria Highway, a remake of the first boss fight with a whole new song, a new power (brawler armor), a world map and several fully animated cutscenes.

I've been almost in radio silence recently and there's a reason for that, I'm planning something big that may or may not work and I hope to talk to you guys about it soon, well not that soon, it will take a while but I hope it works.

Currently I'm at work on stage 7 while I wait for most songs to be ready.

Progress update.

I should've done one of those a while ago but here we go.

Things are progressing mostly well, I can't really tell if there is anything wrong. Currently the game is "finished" up to a certain point, around stage 6 out of around 14 stages.

That also means cutscenes are finished up to that point and at this moment I'm currently working on getting a new public demo out with an extra stage, one or two new powers and a patron only build with all currently finished stages.

I should also publish a new trailer when that demo comes out. Still, there's a lot of bug fixing and polish to be made once I'm done adding new content.

Guess that's it, I'm usually so focused on what I need to do next on the game that I forget to update people and do social media stuff. Welp, see you guys later.

This is Flint.
His backstory isn't something that can be told without the knowledge of other characters I'm currently working on but this guy is a player in the story and as a boss fight.

He was originally supposed to be fark's rival in the game but his design was change to reflect what he currently is for the game's plot.
