Seems like you can run it without steam running. I don't remember implementing any DRM on spark and I don't believe it has any.

Well, if anything, I believe it will take only some little minutes to submit it to GOG on https://www.gog.com/indie
Anyway, can you confirm if the steam release is drm-free? I mean, can I launch the game without steam running?
In case of a no, would you send me a drm-free copy via email if I buy it on steam? Really thanks

Maybe? But I'm not sure if it's worth it for me, right now all my time is going towards the next game.
Maybe later, but not now.

Oh, I understand it now, that's unfortunate. I play the Spark demo through Wine and it did pretty well : ). Then what about a GOG release? I'm sure fans out there would be proud to have such a good game in their DRM-Free library, even if Windows only. Would it be possible?

Sorry but there won't be a linux build, even if there is a gog release.
The software the game was made on just doesn't support it, in fact, this official page https://clickwiki.net/os-compatibility/ tells you to use wine.

Hello! I was surprised this game was made by a brazilian. I tried the demo and loved it, I'm a Sonic fan as well : ]
Well, I came here cause I'd like to ask u 2 not so complicated things.
1 - I saw on Kickstarter page that u couldn't make with the promise of delivering a Mac version due to personal problems. However I'd love if you released a native Linux version, where u can get any distro for free and build the game in an almost zero effortless way.
2 - Knew that were some DRM-Free copies sent to backers. And that's exactly what me and lots of people are waiting to get on GOG as well. Could u please release Windows/Linux builds there as well?
For the fans of Sonic and for the helpful Linux community, would u please make those dreams coming true? I'd be glad to help you in any way, Really thanks!

Try downloading again, most people are not having this problem as far as I know.

Ive been trying to play this on my new laptop but for whatever reason i can deal with the requirements and the game still crashes 7 minutes into the first map.

So I've played this demo and I've noticed two small things.
First, there's a glitch in Floria highway where sometimes you might clip through the hexagonal pillars that are rising and falling. (For clarity, this has happened when I've been air-dashing and colliding with the top edges of the pillars.)
Second, and I'm not sure if this is a glitch or it's my bad, but when I press left on my d-pad, the game seems to think I've pressed right, so I can't access one of my power-up slots or whatever they're called.
Don't know if anyone else has mentioned the first one, so I thought I should say something.
Apart from that one small problem with the pillar, I loved the demo.

The new ones are very open too, they are just a different type of open. New ones have more paths, and means to explore and that's awesome, but old ones had a lot of paths that seemed unintentional, what worked well for first level wow factor.
I love new stages. Trust me, I explored a lot and I can't stop replaying the new demo! I also love that new powerup that increases jump height, it works well for exploration. It's I just love old versions of levels too.
I think people complained about them, because they had some lengthy spots where you couldn't move, namely arenas and miniboss. You addressed the problem with arenas, what for me is a good thing. There was also a spot where if you lost momentum from a loop, there was a long stretch of nothing (sure, there's charging, but it's not obvious for first time players). People noticed length, but their problems were individual sections, not entire stage.

They are quite open stages, you might have had a knee jerk reaction to it, but you can find a lot if you explore. You'll be surprised.
Still, I have got complaints about how long those stages were, while i'm baffled about them since they are quite short, for some people they are just too long.

I appreciate your focus on quality, but I disagree that they weren't very good. I understand what you mean by that, new versions have better camera, they run smoother, don't have "arenas" and don't have as steep learning curve (miniboss in stage 1 was evil before I figured out blocking), but they are much less open and openness (compared to boost Sonic) was a selling point of Fark. And their length really detracts from quality, I had the same "weeeee... oh, it's over" like in Forces. 1:30 when playing for the first time ever is way too short.
I think you could at put the old versions as some kind of secret or unlockable. It would be a waste to waste such good levels.
And about Spark, I remember really not liking some early version (I remember its wall jumping didn't add vertical momentum), so it was a good move, but here, it's not as justified, aside from performance you mentioned.

They weren't very good, that's why I decided to re-do them. Keep in mind the same thing happened to the original Spark as well, Fm city, on spark, was re-made about 3 times. They are actually shorter than the originals too and can be completed in less then a minute with some practice.
There's plenty more reasons for removal, such as the performance in the new levels is better and the overall art was truer to my original vision for FM City.
I know some people have a bad reaction to removed content but you have to keep in mind this is very much true in a lot of games, you just don't get to see it like you did here.

I played the new demo, and it was nice to play two completely new stages. However, I don't understand why you got rid of the previous ones, they were fantastic and both versions are so different, they could function as completely different stages/acts. Especially with the length of new versions, they are as long as levels in Sonic Forces and it's not a good thing.
