What's Coming and More
Added 2018-08-18 00:42:26 +0000 UTCBullet points because I have a tendency to rant.
- I'd like to issue a warm welcome to every new member that made it here after reading The Leangains Method: The Art of Getting Ripped. Researched, Practiced, Perfected.
- During the final phase of my writing, I had to forsake many responsibilities here, the articles completely, but also the daily check-ins (in Q&A-threads) to some extent. It is only thanks to my patient Patrons and dedicated assistant Teddy that we made it through that harsh time. This will change now that I'm back - but it will be gradual, and my focus will be to deliver the goods mentioned in The Leangains Method.
- Which brings me to the apology I'd like to issue for the slight delay in delivering the Patreon-exclusives mentioned in said book. BUT..
- The most urgent ones will become available during the weekend; simply put, tools that will make your life easier and more interesting once you start the routine on Monday.
- Alternative meal plans for both TLM and the 16:8-version will become available during the weekend, I hope - but if not, shortly thereafter.
- Next week, meaning any day in between and including Monday and Sunday, at least one piece of unpublished material from The Leangains Method will be released.
- An updated FAQ will be available as soon as I've read, edited and corrected the version that Teddy has helped me to compile. This will be a merging and a revision of the current FAQ here, linked in the beginning of every Q&A-thread.
So that's that. Just wanted to update everyone on the agenda. Hate to be the guy that's always talking about how busy he is, but book publishing ain't exactly the usual state of being either, so here it comes anyway. Like last weekend, I'm busy as shit. This time with
A) preparing the manuscript for The Leangains Method (print) and
B) collecting and compiling corrections that must be turned in on Monday for print and Kindle update
C) collecting Qs for The Leangains Method FAQ (main site), updating said FAQ
D) hiring folks because I'm not enough - if you're good with video editing, send me an email, your CV just because, and most importantly, a sample of your work or someone else's work were you worked as a video editor. (1)
E) there's more, but fuck it, you get the point. I'm not complaining, just explaining.
Before I Go (To Bed)
Lastly, thanks for all the support. The book has received glowing reviews across the board so far and that means there's still hope in the world. Trust me, I wouldn't release anything less than something I'd give 5 stars myself.
Think I'm critical of others? Good thinking, but you'd shit yourself and huddle up in corner if you knew how harsh I've been on myself while writing The Leangains Method. (2)
Suffice it to say, I'm pleased that people still appreciate a good book these days.
That said, I'd love to read your review. Not because I need smoke blown up my ass - obviously I want that - but mainly because I'm interested in what parts you appreciated the most.
So in the days to come, I'm going to put up a review thread where those who want can link their review. If you'd rather submit anonymously to me, that's fine too.
And with that said, I conclude that this post did indeed devolve into ranting despite pre-emptive measures, so I'll just end it here and say goodnight. π
Footnotes
1. Resumes and CVs, fuck 'em. I'm more interested in the person, the work and his/hers connection to me, so tell me about it. And don't give your expert video editor friend my email. Doesn't matter if he's working with Spielberg, I'm only hiring from the LG community.
2. There is a new world of suffering that exists in the lone writer's mind. It is a plane, a place or a state of mind. Title it as you see fit. Accessed when decisions are weighed against integrity, risk, degrees of truth, character, and other things that I won't harp on about. I had merely caught a whiff off this in the past - and even then, recoiled. You know, writing certain articles and such. Little did I know that I would visit this place daily for 15 months. Some days, a moment. Most days, more. Frankly, those days aren't really worth talking about.
The nights are. But there's a paradox here - they shouldn't be. It's knowledge you keep to yourself because you can never hope to relay it properly. Pressfield made an excellent attempt however.
