I was going in circles, thinking if writing this was necessary. It is for Dave & Ryan's backstory. But did I have to write this? I was so conflicted. I always want to write real people, and how things shape them throughout their life. I don't want to commentate on what's true, whats good or bad. Just the 'why' people are the way they are.
It's hard when u start having to think about why you write. Is it necessary to write this? Should I write whatever I want? I owe a responsibility to my readers. Don't I? I'm terrified. So I really do need your honest opinions. Thank you all.

2025-04-14 13:28:53 +0000 UTCIt's a difficult and complicated topic, but I think you've depicted it really well. I enjoy the different perspectives, showing there is no one truth. I also really like Dave's comment about his "ulterior motive". I can't help thinking it mirrors his comment about how he was able to quit when his mom couldn't. If he was able to find reasons to stay and keep going, why wasn't his mom when she had him to stay for. (Don't know if I'm projecting but definitely something I've thought about after my dad attempted when I was a kid (unsuccessfully thankfully))
