So after finishing the Montagne, here is the big update post I promised:
The biggest news is that I have been admitted into a masters studies course at the University of Vienna, starting in October. As you can imagine that is a LOT of work and a completely new life for me which I'm very excited about, it's the biggest opportunity I've been given thus far in my journey on this planet. I don't want to go too deep into personal details here, but this has financial ramifications and since time is money, I won't be able to spend much, if any, time doing something fun, like this, if it doesn't provide me with the means to sustain myself over the course of a month in one of Europe's largest and most vibrant cities.
I have to be candid here, obviously, the Montagne was a paid mod, I wanted to try and test the waters, see what's what. I'd much rather make my living as a student doing something I'm crazy about and talented for, than working some lame part-time physical job or who knows what before I find an internship. I'm very grateful to each and every one of you who support me and who bought the mod and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do (well, mainly I enjoy looking at it since I don't have much for driving, and it's very hot haha).
However, sadly I think I started this Patreon journey a bit too late relative to my masters studies. If I had a year or two more time to grow a bigger audience maybe then the sales would have been sufficient. So I will probably try to find a way to make this talent of mine into a living in the coming 3 months, mainly by spamming the Kunos, Reiza and Studio397 devs for a position on their 3D teams :D There is also the prospect of AC Evo and the modding platform, we have some big plans for that, but obviously, a lot of it depends on when Kunos release it in a representable state and I have a feeling that it's not going to be entirely on time for me. But yeah, there are options, and always the possibility of returning to this hobby, come what may in the imminent future.
Wouldn't a universal income be awesome? The AI doing all the dirty work and we can commit to our arts and passions... ah
Ok enough about money, boring, "what's with the cars man???" I hear you cry? Well, I have only the month of July left to work on my current job and then it's a month and a half of relative chill aside from the preparations for the studies. Perfect space to finish the started projects:
1966 Chaparral 2D - 3D Model in a finished state, made by Nugget, entrusted to me to bring it into the game, do all the necessary changes, also create the 1967 body variations and make the car ready for the WSC60s update coming sometime next year probably.
1966 Abarth 1300 OT - 3D Model needs a bit more work and I've started on that too as you can see in the pictures I posted, will probably be available in the next WSC60s update too.
1968 Lamborghini Miura Gr. 4 - Just a fun side-quest I made in the past week modifying Velos\Legions Miura SVR. Based on the unraced Jota prototype from 1970, a little what if story: what if Lamborghini homologated the needed number of road cars in 1968 in order to go racing against the Wyer GT40's? Depending on whether we get all the necessary permissions from the original mod creators and whether Bazza approves of having a fictional car in the pack (although we already have one more fictional car planned) this might end up in the upcoming WSC69 pack. If not, then we can make it a standalone free release here. We'll see :D
So that's all I can say for now (as if it isn't a ridiculously long read already haha), but there'll be some more exciting posts in July and progress posts for the aforementioned projects, so stay tuned! Also stay tuned regarding what's gonna happen to this Patreon account, I can't say anything with certainty just yet.
Cheers!
