Demo: Hell is Fine

This is another Solipse song, and I think kind of a difficult one to convey without using distortion or including drums. So at the very least this recording is an interesting experiment in reworking the idea. Someone told me this song is like the cartoon where the house is on fire and the guy's like "this is fine." I think that cartoon is good so I'm down with that. IMO that image belongs in school textbooks about this era as an example of a political cartoon or whatever, cause they're probably not going to use the poop balls pig, which is the only one that's more iconic/definitive.

Anyway if this song is about anything it's probably the idea that we often adjust our expectations of life to match whatever injustice we're subjected to along the way. Like no one's really a good judge of their own quality of life cause we can learn to live with anything.

HELL IS FINE

hell is fine or at least so far
over time you’ll learn how to expect
nothing from no one but yourself forever

hell is fine or at least so far
never mind it feels like common sense
your ideals or thoughts meant nothing
for nothing

every day is longer than the last
every day a million dreams never come to pass

i know what you’re asking
the question is fair
if life’s been so cruel and so kind
then what sense is there in drawing a line
