Facts about Unlock: In this dystopic, vampire universe, the bond between a Human and their Vampire is unique. The only human Vampires can feed from is the one they made a contract with. There’s no one else, nothing that has equal importance as their Human’s life. That’s why they make the perfect bodyguards, and wealthy humans consider owning vampires a status symbol. It’s easy to get high on that power, dependent on that kind of influence and abuse of it.
So the bond becomes symbiotic, intertwined, whether Human and Vampire want to actually be close or not. And at first Dariothinks he doesn’t. He learned to be wary, that humans are greedy and can get vampires as sexual objects or dangerous pets to put on a leash. But oh, vampires can be equally as greedy, can’t they? And it’s so simple to desire, when that human with the sad eyes never asks anything of him, except to protect his fragile, precious life...

Vampires shouldn't kill a human in any case, to not risk dire consequences... much like a dog would risk being put down if deemed too aggressive/out of control. Vampires are considered expendable, so even in exceptional cases of human/self defence, the risk of being put down would be very high. Regarding feeding, instead: to do so from a human they're not bonded with is more of a thing they are not ABLE to do... but heh, I won't spoiler too much about this 👀🖤 Thank you so, so much for the compliments and the questions, they are all much appreciated!!! 🙏🥰
