Facts about Unlock: In this dystopic, vampire universe, Vampires that are bonded to a Human have to wear a locked collar whenever they go out or attend a public event. The Human wears the corresponding key. The Lauda family's emblem is a heart stabbed by a dagger, and that also reflects on the locks and keys the family members use.
The collar and key symbolize the fact that a Vampire belongs to a Human. That they are not free. Dario hates his collar, but maybe not so much when Ermes comes closer to put it on him.
"I'm sorry", Ermes says to his ear every time.
"I agreed to this, didn't I", Dario replies, turning his head slightly, so he doesn't have to see or smell the Human that has him, literally and emotionally, on lock.
