I wouldn't have expected it from just a description, but the off-leash time was actually delightful! I've made my own fair share of long drives so it was fun to hear folks' stories. Also the San Juan Islands are possibly my favorite place on the planet (that I've been to).

Actually in the displacer beast wiki mentions the cloak of displacement so Jacobs comment about grub taking the pelt was spot on . Yeah also it's ac was 13 did you raise it?

Nick Lerche

finally catching up on the podcast so this comment is kinda late but your horror stories with weather and cars sounds like stuff that teenagers from the north west do on purpose for fun e-e so many 16 year olds in Idaho/Montana/Oregon have shitty 2005 hondas and just drive everywhere in any conditions for no reason and its crazy >.>

Love the show, but in Ark Barks where the cast have no conversational chemistry, maybe a more structured approach/more input from Zac to shape the dialogue is the way to go? The last 25 minutes of this episode were truly so dull. Maybe Americans find it inherently fascinating to just swap non-anecdotes of long drives? Otherwise I can't figure out why someone wouldn't at least try to be entertaining. 'One time I drove from Portland to NorCal.' 'Dude.' For 20-25 minutes. Put some energy into the conversation. Make a joke. Tell an actual story. Something.

whoops!

Zac Oyama

Love the show but i wish more happened in every episode. The pacing is kind of slow and it seems like these 3 episodes could have probably been condensed into one. I have no idea how to run a show though or edit so who am I to say anything though hahahah

It's always nice listening to the ark barks, just a bunch of soft voices talking to each other, it's peaceful

RANDAL MONROE

There were 3 times that I remember Rufus rolled a 13 to hit. He was still able to hit one using his bracers but he didn't actually have to. It was definitely more fun though the way it went

Also, you already D&Dified Howdy. You rolled garbage on his stats, and made him into a gunslinger with 6 strength.

Unintentionally difficult combat encounters are Pringle cans full of dog treats. They force players (and DMs) to think outside the box, creating interesting responses and resulting in a real sense of achievement. It's less, 'aw, couldn't beat both of them' and more, 'yes! we killed one of those real tough bastards, and scared off the other one!'
