December 2023 - Fancy Sensors, Schmancy Gizmos

This month, I'm working on Strike Eagle sensors section. A big 'un, no doubt. This will be a difficult task since there is a lot of information to go through. RAZBAM has put a lot of work into the avionics side of things, including the AN/APG-70 Radar, AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN Targeting Pod (TGP) and the AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN Navigation Pod (NVP). Among other things, I'm very curious to see how the TFR (Terrain Following Radar) is simulated and how it interacts with the autopilot.
Those of you who have access to the guide drafts may need to be a bit patient since I predict that the Sensors section will likely be very time-consuming. All of my efforts are on the Strike Eagle at the moment, which means that other guides may need to wait a bit before further updates are provided (I'm looking at you, darn AH-64 with your new shiny toys).

2023-12-03 14:06:56 +0000 UTCThere's a couple other ones on the channel - including one where I flew multicrew (I flew WSO) and we locked up targets for JDAMs with radar and then low level ingress in foul weather with the TFR. Popped up, hit the target and never saw it. Kind puts it all together
