March 2023 - Pleins Gaz!

Hi folks!

This month, we'll cover a few different topics.

Mirage F1

Work continues on the Mirage F1. Things are going very well so far. As was to be expected, the Mirage is really starting to grow on me. Now that we've got the "on-ground" part ironed out, it's time to take that beauty up in the air.

Strike Eagle

RAZBAM's F-15E Strike Eagle pre-orders went live a few days ago. Delays and "technical" issues aside, I feel this is a module many people are really excited about. As most of you may already know, the Strike Eagle is on my to-do list. It will be a huge commitment, so I will have to plan very carefully how I want to do this since I expect many months of work ahead.

Editorial

As the snows are starting to melt and spring is getting closer, I was also thinking about writing another editorial piece for this month (something similar to my opinion piece on Flight Sim Ultra-Realism), but I'm not quite sure about what.

Any suggestions? I don't mind covering a broader range of topics.

Gathering Feedback

With many new modules in development, I thought it would be a good time to ask you guys for feedback regarding ways to improve my guides. I think it's a healthy process since it's very easy for complacency to take root; I would rather hear the cold hard truth than rest on my laurels.

As multicrew and multirole aircraft are becoming increasingly complex, I feel standardization of a few sections/procedures has become necessary. I have learned an awful lot by trial and error with the AH-64 guide, but I feel I still haven't completely nailed down a few things. There's still a lot of room for improvement.

Let's hear your thoughts.

Comments

Hey Chuck! Love your guides. As for feedback, I'm not sure how work intensive this would be, but the only things I think that would make my life already easier, is if an instruction (at least for just the startup chapter) told me what part of the cockpit the control is in -- for example if I'm learning the Viper and it says "Hit the FLCS test switch", if it said "Hit the FLCS test switch [left console]" or something like that :) Anyway this would probably be a huge pain/undertaking but just came to mind when I was looking all over the Mosquito pit trying to find a knob :D
