"Phebruary" 2022 - Month of Opportunities

Hi folks!

Last month was very rock n' roll in terms of news. Heatblur Simulations announced the legendary, the "phabulous" F-4E Phantom II... a brand new DCS module planned for 2022. For those of you that know me well... this aircraft is probably one of my favorite jets in my favorite period in aviation. I've spent my youth reading about Robin Olds and the Vietnam war. This aircraft is going to be something amazing to experience, and I haven't been that excited about a DCS module in a long, long time.

With the F-16 guide update out in the wild, I was initially planning to work on the Apache guide. However, it seems the AH-64 will need to stay in the oven a little longer as per the latest status provided by the Eagle Dynamics team. This delay is a great opportunity to add a few pages to existing guides.

This month, I will add the 9M120 "Ataka" missile procedures for the Mi-24 Hind. Designated "AT-9 Spiral-2" by the russians, the Ataka is quite similar to the 9M114 "Shturm" but has overall better range and more warhead types. I am also planning to update the Co-Pilot Gunner's PKI reflector sight since its depression controls are now functional.

The Mossie also has new RP-3 rockets, so I'll take this opportunity to add them to the guide. They hit like a truck, but they drop off significantly at medium to long ranges.

Finally, I plan to update the JF-17 Thunder guide, which has been neglected for a long time. I haven't finished scoping what needs to be done yet, but the list I have so far could could take a month or two to go through.
