December Update

Greetings comrades,

This month we've got a proper full sized update with some new ideas, some experiments, and some good old space rocks! 

  • Hex Grid Barricades: Printwork barricade structures in lines set to match with isometric hex grids! These are a new experiment in perspective, and for now they're gonna live in the Menagerie!
  • Shipwrecks: Crash sites or scrapyard shipwrecks! These are a new project finally venturing us back into the realm of wreckage and ruins in the desolation map pack!
  • Space Rocks: More colors of space rocks! Now set your asteroid fields in a warm or cool palette. Keep an eye out for more station tiles soon! Gloria Station

November Update

Greetings comrades,

This month we have a lighter update full of aesthetic and geometric experiments while the furnace operator moves once again. New opportunities in urban planning, both industrial and green, to fill out various types of punk cities1

  • Shuttlecraft: Another large ship and its iterations for the menagerie, as well as some variations to let them play as both terrain and actor on your various battlefields!
  • Archology Planning: New infrastructural features for the archology to introduce more colors and shapes to your urban planning routine!
  • Buildings and Colors: Some variations in color and direction for the nul-atmospheric industry pack to diversify the aesthetic of your moon-base hab units!

Greetings comrades,

This month, we've got a good rhythm going, some new projects and the results of some older ones. 

  • Vehicles Space Ships: A new dangerous looking mech and a foray into large spaceship pieces, perfect either as static terrain in dock or as units on the battlefield filling out the menagerie
  • Buildings and Details: The march of urbanization continues with a couple more high rise buildings, along with sloped concrete canal tiles, and new small scale infrastructural bits and bobs to liven up the archology 
  • Small Spacerocks: Filling out the collection of rocky terrain in Gloria Station, we have some new clouds of small rocks to fill out some difficult terrain as well as some new colors!

September Update

Greetings comrades,

This month we're riding the inspiration brought on by some recent video game releases! (can you guess which?) That means some older projects are finally getting some attention again, but new ones are still churning away!

  • New Map Pack! Ice world is finally here with the Gallian Ice Field map pack! We're launching with a lot of glacial ice and snow covered rocks and one stark, heavily insulated industrial structure to combine with our existing styles of building for a wide range of frigid vibes.
  • New Buildings in the archology  pack, as well as some sidewalk tiles!
  • New Colors More color variants on some mechs in the menagerie!

  • Expansion of the ice map
  • Ruins! (we promise, these are still in the pipeline)
  • Experiments in pregen maps!

August Update

Greetings, Comrades!

Busy month this time, but we got some goodies for you!

  • Buildings and Roads: The Archology pack has fresh buildings in a range of colors and, long requested, some curved roads finally!
  • New Mechs: The menagerie has more robots! There will probably be a lot more of these soon with recent game releases churning our artistic inspirations so fervently.
  • Snowy Field: Foraying into snow maps in the homestead pack!
  • More Space Bits: More colors more crates, and soon to be more rocks in Gloria Station!

Armored Core has our inspiration fires stoked, so keep an eye out for snow, industry, and other new project ideas coming up!

June Update

Greetings comrades,

This month it's the long awaited launch of our first proper space assets! 

  • Station Corridors: Modeled on the style of modular dungeon-crawl tiles, your players can now experience the nightmare of close quarters boarding actions in the vacuum of space! 
  • Space Rocks: For those teams who prefer to stay free-floating in microgravity environments, we're also starting in on some more organic spaceborn hazards and environs with rocks and asteroid clusters! Look for these assets and more in the new Gloria Station battlefield. 
  • Vehicular Catalog: The menagerie continues to grow with some new mech frames and some heavy duty industrial vehicles to serve as terrain, objectives, or just cool set dressing.

Upcoming Projects

  • Wreckage: We've heard the requests and the next project we're delving into is the total destruction of our existing environments! Ruined and destroyed versions of buildings, more rubble, more muddy detritus and laser-scorched machinery coming soon!
  • Hangers and Asteroid Platforms: Don't think we're done with space environments. Now that we have the basic set done we have big plans for diversifying theaters of action for your starbound souls.

May Update

Greetings comrades,

It's been another busy month, but projects are ramping up! New games are starting and new tile formats are getting tested! Be on the lookout for more piecemeal drops through June, but for now let's get to the goodies!

  • Buildings: New buildings, variants, and road assets in the, Lunar Industrial Facility, Archology, and Colony Homestead!
  • Roads and details: A few more road tiles to finish out the muddy streets of Hercynia. If you've been missing T-crossing streets, they're here now!
  • Mechs: Our first forays into mech tokens have made it into the Menagerie! We're starting off with some chassis based on the Archer and Assault NPC classes for Lancer, and we're looking forward to filling out more of the roster!

Our much anticipated space station asset pack is still getting the quirks ironed out, but the tiles that are done should be dropping in the discord over the course of June! We hope you're as excited to make some space-dungeons as we are!

This month we've got some very aesthetic developments for the terrestrial side of the campaign, and some exciting prospects for the more extra-terrestrial one too.

  • Camp Details: Tents, Crates, and sandbags for the rainy season! Hyrcinian Lowlands 
  • Buildings: New buildings and new variants in the old Colony Homestead!
  • Transitways: An experiment in new shapes of terrain and new frontiers of ambiguous roadworks. Concrete Metropolis

  • Station/Ship Interior: This set is so close to ready folks, I'm excited. 
  • Mechs: I've been in the mood to draw some straightforward NPC mechs. The menagerie grows. What kind of weird robots do you want to see?

February/March Update

Greetings comrades,

This month the time we've got some new content, some exciting previews, and some organizational updates!:

  • Earthenware Brutalism:: New Battlefield! We're about ready to explore some new kinds of settings and that deserves some new kinds of architecture to give your games some monumental concrete texture. Though brutalism is one of the most underrated styles of architecture, we know it's not for everyone and we're also getting a start on some more tiles to represent ruins for your pilots to bravely defend/cower among. 
  • New Assets:: This update we've got some new vehicular experiments in the menagerie! We're going hovercraft this time, so get some flying objectives and enemies ready! We're also rounding out the Hercynia Pack once again with some warehouses and associated infrastructure.
  • New Organization:: The way the asset packs' files have been organized has gotten increasingly messy over the last few updates, so we're changing up how we do them! Look out for devlog updates on Itch.io pages as the various packs get new content and new file formatting.

January Update!

Greetings comrades!

This month the furnace operator has been sick with the plague, so our update will be a little light while they try to restore their ailing body. 

  • Earthenware style architecture: expanding the range of scifi buildings!
  • Some fun details for the Hercynia Map Pack: muddy roads and sandbags!
  • Separated Urban Floor Panel Tiles: for creating more dynamic city/archology environs!
  • One Spooky Boi: very shady.

This month the furnace is churning out some exciting new content, including:

  • The Starlight Menagerie:: The prophesied creature feature has finally arrived! It’s an esoteric bunch; we've got trucks for days and some delightfully unknowable terrors. Stay tuned to see how it grows in the coming months!


  • More Prefabs:: The Hercynia pack is getting an update with a collection of new variations on its prefab colony buildings!


  • Misc. Backgrounds:: Furnace experiments with hi-res texturing have produced a pair of new isometric background images! Until they get their own map pack, these will be available through the patreon discord or the Omnibus Collection.

October/November Update

Alright folks!

To send off spooky season, we've got some less flashy but hopefully pretty satisfying updates for you. In particular, the Hercynian Lowlands map pack now has a full compliment of prefab-hab buildings, as well as a new and revamped set of prefab perimeter wall assets, and a bridge designed to work with the existing water feature assets from other packs! As usual, early drops of those assets have appeared on the discord server, but now they are also all pushed to the map pack page on Itch, as well as the omnibus packs! Speaking of those, as of now all the map and omnibus packs should be up to date with each other. So check out your favorite map-pack pages and make sure you've got the freshest version with the most assets!

In other news, you may have seen the 100$ patron goal has both transformed and been passed! Since the current distribution methods of Itch and Discord have been working with such stability, I'm going to hold off on trying to set up an independent hosting site just yet. But in the short term, "Creature Feature" is going to take us on a foray into the world of isometric NPC design. The new set of assets is going to include both otherworldly fauna, more conventional vehicles, and esoteric beings outside of such mundane categorizations.

August/September!

Hey folks!
After a very busy end to the summer, these late updates are coming out the door!
You know how it be. Sometimes you get a new project idea that you really just have to get started before you can finish your current one!

Firstly: New map pack drop! After much delay and reworking, futuristic urban buildings are arriving in droves in the new map pack. Right now it contains a whole bunch of buildings to augment dense settlements on any of your maps.

We've also got some fresh architecture of a more rustic character coming to the Golbanc Homestead map pack, along with some new and improved road tiles.

The next few months are probably going to see a shift to more of these small-scale asset updates, tile improvements, and variants added into existing asset packs, and posted in the discord. (This is also going to mean a lot more early releases of individual tiles on discord, so get hyped for that!)

There are still a couple of big biomes we want to get some basics covered for, as well as a few more specialized projects in the pipeline. Next up, though, we're going to be getting humid and muddy with some rainforest assets inspired by No Room for a Wallflower. Getting that project underway has been a big part of the delays over the last month; but, folks, it rocks.

July Update

Heya folks! As a really crazy July wraps up we are hopefully prepared to return to a more regular schedule of updates in the coming months. But for now, check this new content in some of the existing free asset packs!

Homestead 

- two new color variants for the grass backgrounds and trees

- New water features, rivers and coasts!

- Dirt roads for customizing settlement layouts!

- Experimental flat-topped hills!

Moonscape 

- two new color variants for the desolation and rocky terrain features!

- "water" features in chemically exciting colors to fill out exotic and dangerous liquid bodies!

- Crash debris for objectives, difficult terrain, and shipwreck flavor


As always, all of the omnibus packs will are also being updated with these assets, ready to be downloaded fresh.

June Update Prologue

Heya folks! 

Thought I'd give a quick preamble for the June update since I've been so quiet this month! My house move is not over yet, but i finally have a new workspace to spread out and get some more illustrating done! 

New releases for June are gonna include a few more assets added to the existing Golbanc Homestead map pack, including shell craters and defensive buildings! I'm also planning on exploring some different types of vegetation to add some variety to the biome. Additionally, we've got a new moonscape/asteroid-base themed pack coming up! This one is going to start off with a fairly conventional 30x30 field with some matching rocks and buildings as cover. (Previews up on the discord channel!) Once that base set is done though, we've got some exciting projects in the works for folks who've wanted to try using the Parallaxia module! (asteroid islands anyone?) 

Lastly, we're going to be putting together and releasing some minimum payment Omnibus packs a little later in the month on Itch.io. These are going to be organized by asset type rather than by individually themed maps, (ie. natural terrain, buildings, and backgrounds) but will contain all the assets of their category that have appeared in those maps so far. They will also be updated with any new content that gets made for those existing packs as time goes on, and also have some of my earlier experiments with illustration style as a bonus!
