August 2021 - Month of Loose Ends

Hi folks!

As some of you may know, summer is soon coming to an end. With the first iteration of the Hind guide released, I can now take things a bit slower before concentrating on other ambitious projects. Overall, I'm satisfied with the result and I have learned many lessons which will prove useful once the Apache gets closer to release.

I was happy to learn that the Mosquito release date is getting closer and closer. It's one of these planes that I have a special connection with. I remember being a kid and reading about it in my father's old comic book collection. I have great affection for the Wooden Wonder, and I hope I can come up with a guide worthy of this mighty warbird.

On other fronts, I also want to give a small update to the Hornet guide to add a few missing items like the JHMCS alignment, but I don't plan to do anything extensive. I was thinking of "maybe" cleaning up the Harrier Maverick procedures with RAZBAM's new implementation... but it's not a pressing matter. I know the F-16 guide is missing the CBU-105, JDAM, JSOW and some HARM modes... but I would rather wait for more critical systems to be finalized first such as the air-to-ground radar and the HTS pod. I think the Viper can wait a bit more. To be honest, I'm a bit tired of doing the "scrap/fix/update" dance, which I've done for almost the entirety of last year. The process is becoming repetitive and is starting to feel more like a chore than something I enjoy doing. The release Mi-24 was a breath of fresh air and renewed my interest in guide making, so I hope we get additional shiny new modules in the near future.

What matters most right now is recharging my batteries and hopefully come up with an exciting plan for the fall. More on that at a later date.
