For some reason... I feel like I learned this at some point and forgot about it. It sounds very familiar to me. XD

Facts man. He doesn't mess around.

Once upon a time... there was a man named Slade Wilson, whose love for his country was so great that at the age of 16 he used falsified documents so he could join the army. After fighting in both Korea and Vietnam, he was given the rank of Lt Colonel. He fell in love with a fellow soldier named Adeline Kane and eventually they were married. They had two beautiful children, Grant and Joseph, and they were all very happy. One day, he was chosen to be a test subject for an experimental super soldier serum, and he accepted without hesitation. The experiment was a complete success, his strength, reflexes and healing were all greatly enhanced. But when the army realized it would be too expensive to mass produce the serum, they scrapped the project and relocated him to a desk job. Not long after, he was discharged for disobeying a superior officer. Bitter about how he'd been treated, he decided to use the power he'd been given to become a mercenary. By day, he was Slade Wilson, loving husband and stay-at-home dad, but by night he was Deathstroke, assassin and soldier for hire. And for a while no one suspected a thing. Until one of his assignments made him an enemy of a ruthless terrorist known as the Jackal. The Jackal learned Deathstroke's true identity and kidnapped his youngest son Joseph to lure him into a trap. Then, with sadistic glee, the Jackal forced him to watch as he cut the little boy's throat with a knife. He flew into a blind rage, and after killing the Jackal with his bare hands, he rushed his son to the hospital. Miraculously, Joseph survived, but his vocal cords were severed, leaving him a mute. His wife was understandably distraught. She blamed him for everything, and in a fit of fury she pulled out a gun and shot him right in the face. Because of the serum he survived, but he permanently lost the use of his left eye. His wife never forgave him and did everything in her power to make sure he never saw their children again. Of course, none of this ever comes up in the show. So your guess is as good as mine as to how much of this translates into this version of Slade.

This is definitely one of the first episodes to show how serious this Robin is. He knew the risks of lying to his team and did it anyway.
