I did waaaay to much drawing last month, my back was in pain. So now I'm having a break for a week with a silly game project. So expect some hiking simulation in a few days UwU I just want to do a sweet and chill snowy adventure.

I did a lot to improve the AI of the NPCs, rewriting entirely the detection system, adding visual and auditive feedback (like a looot of voices). So I'm very proud!

Another character is doing a comeback!
A new dog joins the game's crew to show the future to the player. Though the future is damn expensive.
I'll probably post my new build in the next 24 hours. I'd love to finish the Building menu but I'm getting really tired and I'm this close to really hate all UI related work X'D Too many interfaces and buttons for a month!
Anyway I'm super happy with the new UI. Definitely my best, and I'll have plenty of time to polish it after the Early Access releasee!!!

Please enjoy these fun mockups I did in Photoshop! Most of them are now in the game.
Well it's terribly long and tedious but I'm super happy with the interfaces! They're easier to produce and read. It was a bit tricky to implement a few of them but so far they work like a charm!
Hopefully I'll finish all the menus and their characters to post a build next Tuesday. I wanted to wait a bit more so I can add a door and stairs but... that's definitely not that important!
Next month, my whole time will be dedicated to the production of two new themes, probably the Boudoir and the Clinic. Or maybe something more exotic. We'll see!!

Ongoing UIs
I've been working real hard to make the cleanest, the sharpest, the nicest UI design I can do. And I'm reaaaaally happy with it! So this time it's a real screen-capture of the working interface XD Not a mock-up anymore!
Lot of boring stuff to talk about but basically I'm getting rid of Unity's UI. Less buttons and panels, the navigation in the interface is mostly managed from various dialogue trees. Or more specifically a node graph system I designed, based on a previous game prototype. Tonight I'm drawing the first illustrations for the new characters of the menus:
- Management: control the employees and the club's settings
- Fortune-Teller: get a taste of what's coming in the following days
- B̵a̵n̵k̵:̵ ̵d̵e̵b̵t̵s̵,̵ ̵l̵o̵a̵n̵s̵ ̵a̵n̵d̵ ̵s̵t̵a̵t̵i̵s̵t̵i̵c̵s̵
- Building: walls, floors, furnitures, etc
- Territory shop: buy terrains or authorisations for more levels
- * Main protagonist: so you have a booty to contemplate during your journey
You will meet all of them in the next build! Hopefully in a week!
Unexpected playtesting
I don't know why but before my break I launched the game. I came back to watch 150 NPCs running around. I'll probably fix that bug but I didn't expected the game to be able to handle such crowd. So I might increase the population limit UwU

UI/UX are not my fav part of game dev until I find a nice direction.
I tried many ideas: toon and comic like buttons, hand-painted like Hearthstone, etc. But in the end I went with a mobile-like style, with flat buttons and bright colours.
I'm trying my best to remove all the text I can from the UI. I'm replacing most of the menus navigation with a dialogue system where these menus will be introduced to the player by their own characters.
I don't want the game's interface to be cluttered with buttons and statistics. Even if it's a management game, I'll go with a more casual approach!
The hard part now: draw all the assets and rebuild all the interface to match that mockup!

Very exciting news for me.
New features
I just added a Bank to the game, it's gonna be handy to keep an eye on many statistics, money related obviously. The player will be able to see the progression, the performances of their club.
I also added an option to apply for Loans. It's gonna be limited but it's like a legal way to cheat in the game. At least if you can pay back the Bank!
Finally I added Taxes! Hurray! So every 7 days you'll receive your new Tax Declaration based on the past week.
You can get a Tax reduction based on your Reputation, same for the interests when applying for a Loan. The more renown, the smaller the interests are gonna be.
Next step
This one is gonna be fun, I'll add Weathers to the game. Now you'll understand the meaning of the cheap useless Roof tiles. Cheap but perfect to keep your clients dry (from the clouds I mean).
At the same time I'll need to simulate the Neighbourhood by sending Fines to the player if sex animations can be seen from the street!
I'll probably add more infos in the Divination menu so player can anticipate surveillance days and incoming rains.
I'll try to upload new build next Tuesday. Hopefully I'll be done with the Weather.
So a lot of work indeed, but it's looking great UwU

Daily struggles
I'm now working on the calendar, which will add new gameplay mechanics. Right now I'm adding the daily trends and frequentation! Basically some days will be crowded, others less, some day people will adore your cute cottage mood, the next day they'll hate it!
Why? So players will need to be prepared for all situations and diversify their club.
Financial struggles too?
The next step will see more challenge for your bank account.
If you lose too much money the bank will seize parts of your club and destroy furnitures and structures.
You'll have to pay taxes for the land you own, for the employees, etc.

I'm starting to add more furnitures, but...
I need guidelines to stay focus on my schedule! So I started referencing the different types of furnitures. So far I did: the sex bench, the bed, the crate, the cage and the stool of lonely pleasure (you know which one). Right now I'm working to add a few more: the chair and the table first.
But I want to add more furnitures types like the chair, the table and probably a few more! The big idea? I can then do variants with themes. For example I plan to release a first version of the game with these themes: wooden cabin, factory, hospital, hotel and luxurious.

I'm a little late with the next build.
Management
Probably cause I under estimated the amount of work. But trust me it worth it! Basically I'm redoing all the employee management system. It's cleaner, obviously, but I'm also adding new fresh features:
- The player can customize the employee's hourly schedule (done)
- It's possible to set a specific hourly wage per employee (done)
- I'll add a basic inventory system to improve the equipment, the tools
- The employee can level up, yeaah (done)
- I'm not quite sure how but the employee will ask for Vacations
- I'd like the employees to unionize but that's probably irrelevant to the game
- The employee will become tired and will need to rest (ongoing)
Recruiting
I also need a new page to recruit employees, something easier than my previous mail system. That was creative, I liked it, but it was also tedious to use for me. Maybe an update version? Pffff we'll see
Your thoughts on inclusivity?
These are just bare thoughts but I got an idea and I kinda like it. I'm gonna add different clients, some mobility or visually impaired, some neurodivergent or just too old and weak, etc. The idea will be to force the player to develop a more inclusive club, and add new game mechanisms in that direction.
For some I already know how to do it. For the others, it's gonna be more complicated. But I'm sure it could be a great addition to the game loop, and it's very positive!

I spent a whole week obliterating all the obsolete systems of the prototype. No more employees managements, no more basic clients. I'm redoing them all now! And it's so satisfying!
Reputation & Clients
I reworked the whole reputation system and the clients. Now clients have a tiny chance of leaving you a Review. From your points of view you can only see the general review of your club you'll be able to read them all in a proper tab.

Polishing
I'm about to start working on the employees: recruiting, levelling, managing, planning, etc. Until now I've been improving various elements of the game. For example I added a proper outline to the characters, a selection system to send quick order to the employees or preview the path of the NPCs. And many other quality of life improvements! It ain't much but it's super important for the game feel!
Steam
I'm also in the process of building the Steam page of the game! It's long and tedious but damn I need it :O
