Devlog, new playable build

Another big update for Risky Sanctuary, wanna try? It's here!

Basically I added a tool to change the colour of the floors, walls and roofs.

I also successfully added doors and stairs. Speaking about doors, the player can add a filter on them to allow/block access to the NPCs. I will probably extend this to the furnitures, adding a on/off switch or something similar.

Anyway, I'm almost completely done with the new building system. I will polish it a bit then start working on the Clients and Employees new mechanics and systems!

Devlog, sexy bricks

I can make walls!

First tileset

Now I can build sexy brick walls!

The squeaky wood floor is almost done!  Next step, paint the furnitures and decorations on the floor tiles.

Hopefully I'll have enough time to even do the roof tileset before the end of the month!

Little twist

I added a little twist: each tile has a few variations. For example I have 3 pillars: naked, with beams, with vent. 🎲

They spawn depending on their position using Simplex noise. I enter the position, the noise return me a value from 0 to 1 and I use it to choose the right asset in the list of walls.

If you save and load a club, the variations will be the same every time!

While it's fun, I won't do that for the furnitures, maybe for the decoration like the plants or the carpets, so they won't look copy-pasted.

Gameplay speaking

Basically I have some ideas for the mechanics of the game, but I try to keep it simple and casual. In the first version of the game, furnitures produce money with clients. And the more decoration around them, the more money you get. I'll try to improve that!

I will play with these parameters to force the player to think more: you can build furnitures exclusively on floors, decorations hanged on walls won't block NPCs, doors will be configurable to filter NPCs, etc.

Devlog, building stuff!

Some feedback after a while to talk about the new building system! Basically it's going very well and it's clearly more satisfying to build stuff UwU


Building

The system is easier to use and it's kinda fun to try different buildings. So far it supports multiples tilesets, though I only did a ugly brick one so you can see how it works. But I'll take the time to make a sexy one with its own floor and roof versions!

I also found a way to force the NPCs to use the floors and avoid the mud. So now they run on the paths the player built, and in the future it's gonna be possible to make doors to filter the NPCs or lock areas!

For that I'm using a customized version of one of Unity's experimental package (link here). Shortly the navmesh is rebuild whenever I want, calcultating also the areas (more about it here).

I promise I'll start to post more about the development, but so far I'm super excited about the future of the game XD I can't wait to finish all the hard coding part and dive into the animations, the 3D assets and the quests!!

My next big milestone is the 31th of this month (it's gonna be hard, motivation!!!). I'll post the first ongoing build, a desktop version for PCs only though (for Adept $5 only).

Devlog, into the grid

So I'm back doing game dev for Risky Sanctuary.

Grid based fun

I'm gonna spend much of the month redoing the building system from scratch. Basically I'm now using an open-source library called Sylve! Hopefully it'll end well and I won't waste my time with it (unlike Unity's localization system and multiplayer).

I'm doing my best so the player can build multiple story buildings. But right now I just started working on the walls, so they can be thin as hell! Hello windows, hello doors.

The game will use autotiling to spawn the structures while the player draws them on the ground! I may even have an idea for a basic roof. Just so you can take nicer screenshots  from outside UwU (more about this here).

More game ideas

Obviously this comes with new ideas for the gameplay. Like buying surrounding proprieties to build a bigger club. But I won't add too many new mechanics since I want the game to feel more like a casual experience, or even a toy when playing in creative mode.

It's also gonna be easier for me to handle all the objects on the map and avoid floating objects (like I ever cared about it) or overlapping furnitures (this is a big deal actually).


Anyway if you have any ideas you'd love to see in a sex club building game, I'll be happy to discuss it with you in the comments below! In the meanwhile I'll go back to work and try to finish a first build before the end of the month!!

Devlog, werewolf jam

Hellooo! It's been a while :D

The pause

So you may have noticed my absence, and that I paused this patreon for two months! Basically I needed some time to work on two games but without the stress of doing many illustrations each month.

I'm currently finishing the prototype for the second game and I'll be back to the sexy arts next month (and I'm late indeed). But I really want to focus more on my personal projects from now :3

The game

For this new project I'm mostly trying to make a werewolf simulator where you can turn into a sexy beast in the moonlit to seduce kinky citizen X) Obviously some may dislike your shenanigans and try to stop you, with their gentle laser beams.

I've been struggling a lot of the gameplay part of this game. Thankfully it's super fun to build a dystopic city and handsome werewolves UwU

New game published!

I'm working on a proper illustrated cover but I'm too excited, too tired, too everything. So here's what I've done this whole February! A new game!

So yeah I paused my patreon but only to work. It doesn't make sense I know. I just needed some peace of mind to focus solely on this project!


And you know what? I have another game project to work on for March. But that'll be another story!!

Devlog, ongoing prototype

Here the prototype I'm working on real hard!

Features

A local multiplayer, playable with up to 4 friends on the same screen, gamepad friendly. In the end it'll use Steam Remote Play to invite friends easily.

So far you can drive the tank, refuel the machines and enter turrets and cockpit.

I added killable robot enemies, destructible trees, procedurally animated tank legs (which damages everything they step on), exit/enter tank to walk outside.

I'm trying to keep the controls and gameplay as simple as possible!

Next steps:

  • Players health/death
  • Health/repair system for the tank (which consumes items as well)
  • Customization system (later but very excited about this)
  • Multiplayer dialogue (very alter, each player their character and their choices)

Devlog, couch multiplayer

Let's do a game I can show to my mom UwU

Big idea

Basically you share a screen with up to 4 players, and your little squad can drive, improve, repair, a oddly shaped tank!

Will you be the driver, a gunner, a mechanic? Who cares you can exchange places whenever you want, it's a matter of human skills and communication X)

The main features will be:

  • drive a walking tank to beat the level
  • shared screen, from 1 to 4 players
  • add machines to enhance it: weapons, storages, engines, radar, etc
  • explore the map to collect resources and blueprints
  • grid based building (mechanics around space management)
  • fight swarms of evil machines (there's a pun to do with AI prompters I bet)
  • the more player, the bigger threats you can handle

I will try to make a very rough prototype for you to try and enjoy. And if it's fun and has potential, I may make this one into my very next big game. Who knows UwU

More

Among the next features I could think of:

  • multiplayer branching dialogues ( I love this idea)
  • vehicles with odd grids for harder space management (like L, U or a big O)
  • large levels with enter/exit, level design alternating exploration and battles
  • upgrade machines
  • bullet hell enemies, bosses
